Physical description:
Height: 6’ 2”
Weight: 150 lbs

Hair: Shaggy dirty blonde hair

Miles maybe tall, but he doesn't carry himself that way. Miles slouches a little and tries to make himself as small and unnoticeable as possible. His hair was long while in captivity but he's cut it back some now that he's free.

Distinguishing marks:
The main thing that stands out about Miles is his weight to his height ratio. He's very thin and yet tall at the same time. He has some cut scares on his hands from working with mechanical parts as well as lash scares and marks on his back from being held as a slave.

Personality:
Miles was originally a shy person but add a year of being a sex slave into the mix, and Miles has become not only shy but skittish. He never talks to a person first, only when he's spoken to or ordered to. Miles is a hard worker, but that's because he hates the bad consequences so much. He keeps his head down and keeps his opinions to himself.

He prefers books to people and he has severe distrust of them. He only goes along with what people want because his fear of punishment outweighs his distrust. He has a brilliant mind, and if you ever get him to actually talk about stuff, he'll talk your ear off about random and various things. He feels strong loyalty towards Lou for finding him and rescuing him and he will actually talk to her and prefers her to talk to over everyone else. Miles also feel more comfortable around women than men and that stems from his abuse as a slave.

Skills and Training: Several degrees to include: Doctorate's in Engineering, Master's n Mathematics & Structural Engineering, and Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering. He knows French, Spanish, German and Italian.
Miles is a creator (of mechanical things), inventor, engineer and idea thinker. If he wasn't so shy, he'd be a teacher.

Strengths and weaknesses:
Strengths:
Creativity/ingenuity
Intelligence
Obedience
Can be productive
Eidetic memory

Weakness:
Can't fight/weak
Distrustful
Easily scared/skittish
Shy from big groups

Items carried: Just a pocket book of Shakespeare's longest play: Hamlet.

History:
Jason Matthew Davis was the second child to be born to Karen and Jordan Davis on February 2, 1985. He lived in a loving and caring home. Right away his parents saw Jason's exceptional intelligence and sent him to a prestige private school. But Jason's favorite thing to do was take mechanical things apart and see how they worked. Jason's parents found themselves buying many new remote controls and alarm clocks during those early years. In the year 1988, Jason and his older brother James along with their parents, welcomed their baby sister Janis into the world.

All three Davis children were bright and intelligent but each had their specialty. James was the explorer and loved learning about places all over the world and often make-believed with his siblings about far off journeys. Jason loved to tinker. When he started learning how to put back together the things he took apart, he was unstoppable. Janis, the youngest, was the creator. She wrote music, choreographed dances, came up with fashion designs and even liked dabbling in architecture.

All three were brilliant in their own way, and all three had perfect photographic memories, making keeping interesting books in the house a chore for the Davis family. They also all excelled in their private schools. James was 18 when Jason graduated high school at 16. Just like his brother, the Davis parents held their son back one semester from college so he would be a bit older when entering. During that off time, James took his little brother on a trip all over Europe. To prepare for the trip, Jason learned French, Spanish, German and Italian. He would have learned more but James told him to just live in the moment and enjoy exploring new things. The two returned to the states just in time for Jason to start college in the Spring. He double majored in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering.

Jason found college exciting and accepting. He was no longer the nerdy, odd kid. He was now among equally intelligent peers who appreciated his ideas. He thrived in college and everything was great for the Davis Family. In 2009, Jason graduated with his Doctorate's in Engineering after having completed a Master's in Mathematics and one in Structural Engineering and his Bachelors' in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering. He began working at a local college, had his own place, and even had a pet. Things were going "normal" for the young man, until December 21, 2012.

The pulse was never something Jason saw coming and he felt like an idiot for not seeing it coming. Being separate from his family, he didn't know where everyone was, but he tried to find them. His siblings were out of town and his parents were supposed to be home, but he didn't find them there. What he never found out was that is parents got into a car accident when the pulse hit and sadly died.
Miles did the best he could on his own, but some pretty nasty people caught up with him, recognized his meekness and played on it. They were slavers and they took him and held him for a little over a year, making him do atrocious acts, whipping him if he ever resisted until Jason got to a point where he simply shut down and gave up all hope.

He wasn't sure where he was when the fighting started, but Jason kept low, even though he was tied to a metal stake in the ground, his hands bound together. He simply curled up on the ground and waited to hear the ending of the gun fire, whimpering in fear at the loud sounds all around him. He heard rustling around him but just shut his eyes to it all, trying to make it go away. Until he heard a female voice, strained, worried, but kind at the same time. He opened his eyes and with the sun bright behind her, the woman before him looked like an angel. She told him she was there to help and she untied him from the stake, ushering him to hurry with her.

Ever since Lou found and rescued him, Jason started going by his mother's nick-name from him, Miles, and he's been forever in her debt. He rarely leaves her side and even now has a room right next to her in the Weightmaster's Office. If he's not around her somehow, he's reading in his room or drawing up inventions to eventually create.

A few weeks back, he found a lost puppy, a mutt of some kind, and has since named him Lucky.

Writing Sample:

Jason went along with the man as he was lead away from the rest of the slaves. He didn't want to think about why he was being lead away, because once he thought about that, he'd freak out, tense up and possibly get punished. But luckily, the man didn't want anything from him. He simply hammered a metal stake in the ground around some brush and then tied Jason's rope to is, like a dog on a leash. The man told him not to go anywhere or else he'd be killed and then walked away.

Then Jason heard the gun fire. He went from sitting on the ground to laying crouched in the fetal position, trying to be as small as possible, keep his head low. The fighting would grow louder, and Jason felt so afraid, then it would get quieter, but Jason still didn't come out of his fear. He even closed his eyes, tried to make himself fall asleep, to black out the world around him, that was really the only way he escaped his current life. Even his book couldn't get him out of his reality.

Some of the fighting seemed to go away and it seemed to Jason that he might have actually succeeded in falling asleep. Then he heard a voice. It was tired, but sweet, worried but kind. When Jason opened his eyes, he thought he was looking at an angel, a beautiful angel who was telling him that everything was going to be okay. For a second, Jason actually thought he had died and possibly went to heaven, until the all of the woman's words sunk in. She was telling him to get up, they needed to go, he was safe but they needed to leave quickly, and she untied him and pulled on his arm to move. Ever the obedient one, Jason listened to the angel woman and ran with her to safety.
