Full Name: Samuel Thomas Wilson Other Names: Falcon, Captain America Age: 44 (look, he was blipped for 5 years he's not exactly sure how that works) Sexuality: Heterosexual Fandom: MCU Canon Point: Just after he decides to take on the mantel of Captain American FATWS
History: • Sam was born in Harlem, but then moved to be raised in Louisiana along side of his sister Sarah. He grew up playing on his dad's boat or spending time with his aunt, TT, whom he loved to spend time with. She was the one that taught him how to not only talk to people but to understand them as well. It wouldn't be until later in life where this really started to pay off, but as she was often fond of saying, a seed was planted.
• Not really having money for college, or the desire to go into massive debt to do so. Instead, Sam joined the military and became a paratrooper. Sam did two tours, and earned a number of commendations considering the program he was in was new and experimental. However, at the end of it, after he lost his wingman, Sam just lost all of his heart. He lost his ability to see the bigger picture or any sense of good in what they were doing. So he retired as soon as his time was up instead of making it a career like he had originally thought.
• After, he moved to DC to start work at a center for veterans. He received further training and realized that just because he lost his idealistic views when he started, didn't mean that he was giving up on people. His siblings in arms, and that wasn't something Sam was about to do by any stretch of the imagination.
• It was by working at that center and getting into his new routine that Sam would eventually make friends with Steve Rogers, Captain America himself. Started out as not a lot, he got Steve to come down to the center to meet with a few people. Sam honestly thought that might be it. But, then all of a sudden on an on the run Steve and Natasha were at his doorstep asking for his help. Which would eventually lead to him being on the run, but that hadn't quite come to pass yet. Instead, he started to go on a mission to help Steve track down The Winter Solider instead.
• After the Avengers defeated Ultron, Sam received a call to head to upstate New York to the new Avenger's compound to train as an Avenger and join the lineup with Tony calling it quits and Thor being off-world, among other things. It was during this time he defiantly did not let TicTac beat him and steal a piece of tech that was at the compound. To which he would eventually try and track down Scott Lang and keep tabs on him just in case.
• It was in Lagos that everything really fell to shit. He didn't blame Wanda, probably one of the few who didn't. He couldn't help but think of it from a soldier's perspective. It sucked, but sometimes these things happened. She tried her best, but in the end, it wasn't enough. It's a shitty feeling, but it happens. Sadly, this turned into an outright refusal to sign the Sakovia Accords and he and Steve were once again on the trail of the Winter Solider, and Sam basically fleeing for his life becoming a fugitive, getting captured and imprisoned at the RAFT.
• He would be broken out by Steve and Natasha, while Clint and Scott made deals to get them out faster. Sam was maybe a bit too stubborn for his own good sometimes, he couldn't help but think of his sister rolling her eyes at him. But, he felt like it was the right thing to do. And once again they were on the run, doing what they could, where they could.
• Until the world needed him in a bigger way. Well, not him, but the Avengers. Thanos had appeared to be ready to make a power move after all this time, and as hard and desperate as he fought in Wakanda, it wasn't enough. One minute he was looking for his friends the next...nothing. Sam Wilson had blipped from the Snap and would be MIA for the next 5 years.
• There was a bright light and Dr. Strange was making portals to take them to what would be the final battle at the now destroyed Avenger's compound. Being the heartfelt smartass he was, Sam couldn't resist one more On your left now that the tides had turned. Sam came out of that portal ready to fight with everything he had left in him, and in the end they won. With a terrible cost...but they won.
• In the aftermath, after the funeral, it was a blur of movement, and Sam doesn't really remember sleeping much. But he does remember standing at the launch pad watching Steve go through and put the stones back. And then meeting some old dude claiming to be Steve and handing him the shield. Bucky could have probably knocked him over with a feather at that point. It was a huge mantel, and Sam wasn't sure he was up for it in all honesty. It was a complicated relationship he had with the United States as a whole, and he would need time to process it. Though, about the time he was starting to actually think about it, is when he got pulled onto this damn ship.
Personality: Sam Wilson is one of the steadiest people on this planet. He is loyal, hard working, consistent, gives respect where it is earned, and is a total and complete smart ass who thinks he's the funniest guy around. He believes in people even after all he's been through and despite everything still believes that people are worth trying to save. Talk first, start swinging as a last resort. He doesn't believe in grudges, as they will get you no where, but he will give you playful shit about things. He's the guy you want in your corner because he'll always show up. He'll tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. That doesn't mean he's an asshole about it, just that it's always better to go with the truth than not. He's a big believer in forming his own opinions, reviewing facts, and not just going with the popular opinion. He had to learn to own up to his mistakes, and doesn't have a problem doing that now. Because now if he screws up, it's not just his life that's affected. Sam has a big heart, but he keeps it somewhat guarded, if only to preserve what's left of his sanity.
