Questionnaire #4
For [info]sadisticmuses

Character name: Nessarose Thropp
Fandom: Wicked

Can you read?
Perfectly well. The Grimmerie remains beyond me, unfortunately, but... Elphaba left me a gift behind, from her return to Munchkinland just before the house drop - it's a translated version of the Grimmerie, enchanted for my sole use.
...It contains a spell that relates how to restore a tin man to human form, and another spell to give him a heart so that he might live for more than nine days... she knew that I'd survive, she knew I'd want Boq back...

Can you write?
Rather well, in my humble opinion... my writing's a bit messier now than it was before that house fell on me, but it's legible and well-done, for the most part.

Can you sing?
A family talent is our ability to sing - Elphaba's voice is beautiful, mine is... well, it's not as good as my dear sister's, but it's certainly decent.
We're known for our penchant to make up songs on the spot, too. Just ask anyone who went to Shiz with us... if you can find them, that is, and if they'll admit to having been friends with the Wicked Witches...

Can you play an instrument?
Afraid not. Never learned how to, never cared to learn how.

What languages do you speak?
As the daughter of a high-ranking official, I speak most of the languages of Oz - standard Ozian is a given, but I also speak Munchkin and Quadling, with a few words of Gillikinese and Vinkun thrown in too.
...If I encounter other languages, I tend to make use of that translated Grimmerie - there's a spell in there that translates speech instantaneously. It's very useful.

What weapons can you use?
I have my wand, I can use magic. Those are the only weapons I need.

Just commenting on how brilliantly in character you are. I like reading your responses.

And the idea in the 'Can You Read?' answer would make a great fanfic, I bet. Her trying to restore Boq after all these years unconscious and uncared for. And if he'd still want Galinda/Glinda or not. Fun to think about.

I try my best. Nessa's an awesome character, and so fun to write. =D

I'm very fond of my answer to the 'Can You Read?', too.
Nessa still does, and probably always will, love Boq dearly. She'd tear her own heart out if it meant she could stay with him.
It's very fun to think about. I'm suddenly tempted to write it...

The really sad part of that is that I can actually picture her trying to tear at her chest to get her heart out to convince Boq to love and want her just as much as she does. Creepy, yes, but... well... Yeah. Okay. Gonna stop thinking about that before I freak myself out.

Oh, you definitely should! There are far too few Wicked fanfics out there. And if you write it... I could read it, yeah? *hopeful*

I can picture that quite easily. In desperation, Nessa freaks out, she loses control... it's only one short leap to move to her trying to tear her heart out.

If I write it, I'll be sure to tell you.
It'll be written in-between rehearsals, no doubt, so it might take a while...

Mhmm. Poor Nessa. Really.

Oh great. Thanks a bunch! Ooh, and rehearsals? You in a play? Sorry, curious. >___< Probably none of my business.

Poor Nessa indeed.

Curiosity is good!
I'm actually playing Nessa in a cut-down version of Wicked, all for charity. It's quite good fun.

Oh wow! That's great, then! Is that what made you start her journal, or was that before? Will it be a musical or just a play?

I started her journal just before I started working on the thing.
It's a musical, although quite a few of the songs have had to be sacrificed due to time constraints... both of the songs with Nessa's bits in have survived, though, so I'm happy.

At least there's that, then. n___n The songs are awesome. Well, most, anyway. There're a few I'm not fond of, but, hey! Wicked is still awesome. xD I wish you mucho luck in rehearsals, and even more on the actual day you're performing.

The less said about 'March of the Witch Hunters', the better, yes?
And I'm going to need that luck. I almost did in my knee whilst doing the 'Wicked Witch of the East' scene... I was walking with a limp for about a week after that.

xD Yes.

Oh wow. xD That bad, huh? Well, you took one for the cast! Good on you! Haha. xD At least you do it now, so you'll be more careful when the day comes. Heh.

It's all a bit Beauty and the Beast at that point. You could probably put half of 'March of the Witch Hunters' in place of 'The Mob Song', and nobody would notice.

I've learned to check that there's nothing I can fall dodgily on before doing that bit. I'd like to come out of this with the ability to walk, after all.

Is that what you did, then? Well, not you, but whoever's organizing it...

xDD Yes. You want to get in character, but not TOO much, after all.

We've just booted 'March of the Witch Hunters' out of the highest window we could find. It just couldn't work.
So, we had to restructure it into dialogue, which was... an odd experience.

The easiest way of getting into character is just to sit in the chair. You slowly start to go crazy, because everyone tends to forget you're there.
