OOC Player Name: Maggie! Age: (Over-18s only, please.) Timezone: Preferred messenger/email address: Experience: (It's not a problem if this is your first game.) Character Name: Polaris Ginerva Malfoy Nicknames: (If any.) Po Age/DOB: March 23, 2033/19 House/Years: Gryffindor/2044-2052 Sexuality: Heterosexual Immediate Family: Lily Luna Malfoy (Mother) Scorpius Malfoy (Father) Harriet Lyra (Older Sister) Draco Altair (Baby Brother) And then basically every Potter/Weasley/Malfoy family member ever. Marital Status: Single Blood Status: Halfblood Loyalties and Allegiances: Her family Appearance: When Po was a little girl, she was the only one out of her siblings that had managed to inherit her mother's bright red locks. Unfortunately though, as she got older they began to fade, and her hair turned out to be an in between of blonde with red undertones. A little piece of her mother, and her father. Along with her hair color, it allows the color of her bright blue eyes and pale skin to really pop, throwing together one gorgeous young girl. She falls a little on the taller side, and because of this she didn't win the genetic lottery when it came to feminine curves by any means. She's got a little bit, but not near as much as her sister or her mother. It's a bit annoying, but she likes to think what she lacks in tits she makes up for in sparkling personality. Thankfully too, her hair has since straightened on its own since her days as a child, which pretty much saves her hours getting ready in the morning. Her style itself is pretty trendy. She tries not to go too overboard on the fashion or look to high end. She likes to keep it comfortable, but still have that professional edge when need be. She works two internships and a job and is no stranger to having to dress up for the boss man. But when she's on her own, she has more of a bohemian, relaxed style, if that is even a thing. That's just how she manages to describe it. Another change is now that she's past being of age, Polaris does have a few tattoos. Though wizarding tattoos are interesting, she had a thing for good old muggle ink and got a quote across her back shoulders and a heart tattoo on her upper thigh. People like to ask if there is meaning behind it, and she usually just gives them an icy stare until they drop it and move on. Though she's not super tall, standing at a pretty average 5"6', that doesn't mean she can't be scary when she wants to be. Played-By: Evan Rachel Wood ________________________________________ Personality: Polaris' personality hasn't necessarily changed much from when she was younger. She's still curious and talkative, she still always wants to learn to things, and she still loves to ask questions. Only this time in a much more mature context. She's very bright, and she still finds it very important to know everything she can. After all, you never know when you could need that information! And it could save your life! These are all very important things to understand. One could sometimes equate her to a know it all, but she just considers herself prepared and informed, thank you very much. She still also isn't very good at listening to the word no. When she hears it, she will devise whatever plan is necessary to get around it. Whether that means she has to go from parent to parent, playing the “but mom said I could go, but dad said I could go,” game or something of that nature. And sometimes it still does end in a giant hissy fit. She's still only a young teenager and tears are still a good way to get something you want, after all. Plus, teenage hissy fits tend to be a lot louder than ones when you are five. After growing up in a household as the middle child, Po also still has issues with sharing. She just... she's bad at it. There are certain things she really doesn't care much about, but when it comes to things like clothes and magazines, she gets extremely angry when her sister takes them without permission. I mean is asking really so hard? She just likes to know where her things are. Because that way when Harriet breaks them or damages them in some way, she can at least pin it on her without having to convince her parents otherwise. Yes, she can be devious and cunning. Just because she's a Gryff doesn't mean that her father's Slytherin side isn't there. Plus, she does have an ongoing sibling rivalry with her older sister. She loves her of course, but no one on the face of the planet wants to live in the shadow of someone else, and Harriet is a bright and talented kid. Just the fact that she got to Hogwarts first kind of irks Polaris off, not to mention the fact that Harriet likes to pretend the whole few years she's got on her sister means the world. She tends to sort of act like a jerk to Po around her friends, and she can't stand that behavior. Polaris is a firm believer that you should treat everyone the same, and not change based on what cute boy you're hanging out with that day. But aside from all that, Polaris loves her family. She loves her parents, her siblings, and her cousins. She is a family oriented person, because let's face it, in an extended family as large as hers its kind of hard not to be. It's made her a very social creature, and though things like older, cute boys and lots of homework still make her anxious, that doesn't mean she's afraid. It just takes her a little longer to feel comfortable. But once she does, she usually doesn't shut up. She likes to get to know people on a serious level, not just that on the surface nonsense. To her, there is no point to get to know someone if you aren't interested in everything about them. Po is also very hard working and strives to be the best she can be. After all, coming from the family names she does she feels like she has a lot to live up to. That pressure can be kind of scary though too. Lastly, Polaris does have serious courage, just like a regular Gryffindor. That courage is exactly why she tries new things so often and doesn't particularly like hearing no. Limitations only make it harder to be the best person she can be, and she will do her best to get around them in whatever way possible. She likes to take chances and isn't afraid to get dirty. Though she doesn't necessarily like being dirty... that doesn't mean she won't tolerate it for the furthering of her own knowledge and experiences. Really, Po just wants to live life to the fullest. She wants to meet new people, know important skills, learn languages, see amazing places, understand different cultures, really anything that could be classified fun and adventurous. To say the very least, Polaris tends to be a handful to her parents, but she is at heart a really, really good kid. Likes: Family outings, playing with her little brother, makeup, fashion, traveling, learning new things, reading, exploring, getting into trouble, testing the waters Dislikes: Getting yelled at, being grounded, being told no, fighting with her sister, fighting with her parents, fighting in general. Strengths: She's actually really good at Transfiguration already, cheering people up, flying on a broom, taking exams, writing essays, and researching Weaknesses: Talking to boys, keeping her temper in check, following directions What are your character's fears? Spiders. Definitely spiders. Oh, and losing anyone in her family, because she's a softie <3. What are your character's motivations? Polaris just really wants to learn as much as she can and better herself as a person so she can grow up and be successful. Hopefully in a job that allows for a lot of adventure and traveling... Though she doesn't want to admit it, she really does strive to be as talented and good as the vast majority of her giant family. Though she loves them, sometimes it is awful hard to have so many family members everywhere doing so many things. She sometimes feels overshadowed before she even starts. What is your character's deepest, darkest secret? Could they ever be convinced to share it? If so, with whom? If not, why? Last year right before Christmas, Polaris accidentally let out her sister's cat. At first, she was sure the animal would come back, so she tried not to worry about it too much. As the hours turned into days, which turned into nearly a week, she started to not feel as confident in herself and her assessment of the situation. Plus, no one had noticed the cat was gone for at least two days and she hadn't made any extra effort to tell her family what had happened. About two weeks after the holidays, one of their neighbors came over to their house to inform them they had found Harriet's cat dead in their garage. They said it looked as though it had frozen to death or something, and apologized profusely they hadn't found him earlier. Po, hearing this news felt instantly heartbroken as well as crushingly guilty. But she didn't tell. Instead she held her sister while she cried over the loss and grieved with her. To this day she feels absolutely horrible. Not only for lying to her sister and failing to tell anyone about her mistake, but also because said mistake had lead to the death of an innocent creature. History: Polaris was the second child of three, so even before baby Draco came into the picture the house was always an alive and exciting place. Plus, when you also happened to have a family as large and close as she did, there was always visitors and places to be. So early on she was exposed to a world of moving around, meeting new people, seeing new things, having new experiences. Though sometimes they weren't always the best experiences, they were important to have nonetheless. At least, that's how Polaris saw it as she started to get older. She was always getting into little bouts of trouble by wandering off by herself and trying to talk to strangers, or trying to do things she probably shouldn't have been. Her parents were patient with her though, thank goodness, and were always better at teaching her a lesson than punishing her. She also had her run ins with her siblings. Though they loved each other, that wasn't to say they got along all the time. Especially Polaris and her sister. They butted heads a lot, argued, got into verbal and on rare occasion, physical fights, and were generally snotty and rude to each other. But as the years progressed it started to get better. Though it's still not perfect since they are teenagers, and Harriet tends to get especially snotty towards her little sister when she's at school and around her friends, it is improving. Plus, Scorpius and Lily always push them towards getting along. Though Polaris finds her sister frustrating and annoying, she truly loves her at heart and she knows her sister feels likewise. There were always the little things, like when Harriet would sit up with Po at night when she was scared of a thunderstorm, or when her older sister would braid her hair and then play dolls with her. And there was even the time when Po was six that an older neighborhood boy pushed her down and made her cry, Harriet came running to her rescue by kicking him in the kneecaps and batting him in the ear. He went down crying himself for a moment before running home. So though their relationship is far from perfect, they still have a loyalty towards one another. And Po knows that her sister will always be there for her if she ever needs it. It is the same with her brother. Though when it comes to Draco, he has two big sisters to look out for him at Hogwarts. Speaking of which, is absolutely amazing. Polaris absolutely loves school. Her first few years were like a completely different world. She immersed herself in the ability to explore, question, and learn. She got into trouble a bit too, here or there. Mostly for being places she wasn't supposed to be. But she wanted to know everything about her surroundings and experience everything she could. Especially after hearing all of the stories her family had to share about Hogwarts. She wasn't going to miss out on absolutely anything, if she could help it. And so far, she's managed to dip her toes into quite a few different things. Most recently this year, Quidditch. She figured she might as well give it a shot when they had an opening for a Keeper and she was extremely glad she did. Even her sister had nothing but nice things to say when she made the team. So far the year had been going splendidly, and Polaris even had her eye on an especially cute boy from her Charms class (though she had yet to tell anyone about it). It was almost making her grades suffer... almost. She had literally just been working up the courage to ask him to the upcoming trip to Hogsmeade when she woke up in a completely different place. Though the ordeal was slightly terrifying, the idea of a new adventure absolutely thrilled her as well. Occupation: Barista What year is your character from? 2054 Please list 3 - 5 plot ideas you'd like to work through with your character. These do not have to be major plots that affect the whole game, but please tell us what you specifically want to do with your character. Even at nineteen, she is still going to want to get to know/reach out to family who have long since passed. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and she isn't one to miss out on those. -Now that she's not in school, it will be interesting to see how she deals with her in village job. Back home she holds two separate internships as well as a part time, paying job. She is used to literally working herself into the ground and strangely loves every minute of it. The fact that she gets to do three different things keeps her attention (slight ADD sufferer) and moving from that to a more monotonous, everyday job might end up driving her insane. I want to see what kind of creative solutions she figures out to this problem. -Her parents & grandparents. At this point in her life they are about the same age. It will be interesting to see their interactions with each other and if Polaris will actually see them as parent figures, or just as friends. This in itself could cause some problems to work through, but I think that would be an interesting thing to do. -Family drama. Being in a village with so much family obviously means familial problems. Especially when a lot of those family members have gone from peers far older than her to in pretty much the exact same age group. Now that she's older as well, that filter she had in place before might not exactly exist, and people may not be the happiest with what she has to say. Honesty is key, but that doesn't mean honesty won't get you in trouble either. -She's a bit of a troublemaker, and though there are plenty of those in the village that like causing mischief she is another one to add to the list. And some of her pranks may not go over in the best way. It's how she solves the boredom though. -Being the older friend. She's never been used to that before. It will be interesting to see how she navigates friendships with people like Belle and Justin now that she's older. Maybe she will act exactly the same, or maybe she will have issues readjusting to those friendships, changing their dynamics. But she doesn't like to give up easy either so she'll push to maintain those relationships no matter how the other person feels... |
