I guess the only way to convince her is to be there for her. That's the only thing anyone can do to help. If your dad doesn't want anything to do with you, then he's an idiot and doesn't deserve you at this age. But...I sort of get it. I feel disconnected from some members of my family here sometimes, too. It's shite.
