I know it is not quite the same, but I lost a good many people in my world and asked myself the point to trying many times. People I thought I knew surprised me - good and bad. But would I trade those people? No. They all meant something to me no matter how short the time or how poor the end. I was still alive and I still had people who cared about me. You do too. It is easy to give into the hurt, but do you really want to taint memories with pain like that?
