Personality • • •

Narcissitic. Snooty. Both these words are commonly used to describe Fleur, especially by those who don't know her well. She complained about Hogwarts. She complained at the food. She even complained about the weather, which is something no one can ever really control. And quite frankly she's used to getting what she wants and knows how to get it.

Under this though, Fleur is loyal, extremely intelligent, cultured, and determined. There is just a shell around her for the most part. It's a fairly lonely life growing up as a teenager who's part veela; you spend your time either being drooled upon by boys and treated like a threat by most girls. She's learned that the few close friends she has are precious, and that they should be treated as such.

Fleur enjoys the finer things in life (classic paintings and music). She also loves city life with it's all it's busyness. She can cook extremely well, although most of this is French food, and it's an acquired taste.

It should be said that Fleur was a triwizard champion. Regardless of how, "Oh I broke a nail!" she may seem to come off, she is one tough cookie. She also possesses a quick temper.

Likes: French food, city-life, Paris, Bill, her family, her friends, blue skies
Dislikes: Celestina Warbeck, Blast-ended skrewts and Grindylows, heavy food, war,

Relationships • • •

Family: Fleur adores her family and friends. Most notably is her relationship with her sister Gabrielle. Fleur adores her sister, and while she is hesitant to say who it is she misses the most in France, her sister is most definitely in the top three.

Apolline and Christophe Delacour are Fleur's parents. They're a fairly well-known family, who own a string of apothocaries in wizarding France. There's nothing wrong here. They're her parents; she's their daughter. It's a run-of-the-mill relationship for the most part. Although Fleur even admits that she is a daddy's girl. They do happen to think she's a bit too young for marriage, but they are still ecstatic to help in any way they can.

Her family will expand quite dramatically. Her marriage to Bill Weasley will bring about a slew of in-laws. While she loves and adores Bill more than anything, she's gotten off to a rocky start with some members of his family, most notably Molly and Ginny, the second of which has given her the oh so charming nickname of Phlegm. She knows Ginny calls her this. She's not an idiot.

Friends: Fleur actually doesn't have many friends. True friendships were a hard thing to come by at school. Girls tended to be too jealous, and boys tended to drool. But she has a few friends that she hold near and dear to her, especially as she's gotten older.

Romantically: Fleur will be getting married, but before Bill the dating game was a bit difficult. She never did lack for a date, but there was always some fears in the back of her head about if they actually liked her or not. She's happy now.

History • • •

Fleur’s grandmother, a full veela by the name of Adélaïde, was not a very pleasant person during her life. She was a notorious man-eater. She married only once, and that was to Apolline’s father, who died very soon after her birth. All Apolline can remember of her childhood is a ton of father-figures coming in and out of her house as if through a revolving door. They came and went in phases of lust, and Adélaïde never really loved a single one of them. She knew the effect she had on men, and she wasn’t afraid to use these traits to her advantage. She constantly told Appoline that beauty was strength and power, and that she should never be ashamed of her strengths. As a result Apolline had an extremely skewed idea of what love was, including the thought that no man can ever truly love a veela.

When Apolline was 23, she met Christophe Delacour whose family owned a chain of apothocaries throughout France. Upon their first meeting Christophe spilled a potion he making down the front of himself. Apolline flipped her hair, turned on the charm, got the discount she was aiming for, and didn’t give him a second thought.

Apolline was working in potions research at the time and ended up spending a lot of time in the Delacour’s apothocary. Christophe was smart and understood his subject quite well. He was funny and charming. Soon Apolline was quite infatuated with him and finally agreed to go out with him. As their relationship progressed they for each other and eventually got married.

March 3rd, 1977 Fleur was born, and as she grew Apolline tried to shield her daughter from the type of life she had growing up, but told her what she was and her heritage was nothing to be ashamed of. While Fleur's childhood was a loving and stable one, her mother warned her about the affect she could have on men but not to worry overly about it. This coupled with a father who loved to do nothing more than to spoil his two daughters rotten left Fleur quite a spoiled, egotistical child.

Fleur did not fit in the best at school at first as a result. She was haughty and spoiled and spent more time studying and reading than socializing at first. After all, she was stubborn and if people were keeping their distance that was THEIR problem. She did eventually makes friends with some classmates, but it did take a while. People outside her social circle really didn't seem to like her much.

She knew what they saw. They saw just another pretty face, which only made her more stubborn in her resolve to earn everything she got, and she felt she had to work three times as hard.

In 1994, during her final year, she studied at Hogwarts when she went with her headmistresses Madame Maxine to the Triwizard Tournament. The moment she heard about the Triwizard Tournament starting back up she was adamant about putting her name in. Much to her delight she was chosen as the Beauxbaton’s champion. She also made it known that she was in this to win and that nothing would stop her. She found England to not be to her tastes. It was grey and cold. The food was ridiculously heavy. The castle seemed drafty.

During the tournament it should be noted that she had no qualms about any of the help she received from her Headmistress during the competition. In fact just reading about the past tournaments in the books showed her the tournament had a huge history of cheating. She liked the tournament because she thought it showed that she was intelligent, crafty, and adventurous. It wasn’t until the second task, when she failed in saving her sister that she got a very much needed kick in the ego and warmed up a bit to England.

After school Fleur got a job at Gringotts to help improve her English, which wasn't horrible, but she thought she could still use some work in. While her test scores were good, Fleur was unsure what she really wanted to do after leaving school, and she actually thought living and working in England would keep her a good distance from friends and family back home who would nag her about what to do with her future.

It's here that she met Bill Weasley. She'd seen him a couple of months previously at the tournament but there hadn't been any introductions. He was smart and fun, and Fleur was soon rather taken with him. After a year of dating, he popped the question. During that summer she stayed with the Weasley's for a few weeks, Bill wanted her to get to know her future family. The stay was NOT a success. That was a year ago. The wedding's set for late August.
