HISTORY
THE BIG FIVE: 1. The death of Fred Weasley. Okay, this isn't a memory because he wasn't born yet. But Fred has always been acutely aware of the absence of his namesake in his life. He didn't know what it was at first. A bit of sadness in his Gran's eyes when she said his name. Pictures that looked like his daddy but weren't. The way his Dad sometimes called for Fred and then seemed surprised when he answered. Eventually they were all told the story, and he finally understood. He was a twin himself, and he couldn't imagine having to live without Roxy. He became very aware of the legacy he was carrying on, and strove to be worthy of it. Every time Gran rolled her eyes and said “You're just like your father,” knew he was doing the right thing. After all, Dad and Uncle Fred had been twins.
2. The birth of Roxy. Okay, maybe this didn't count as a memory either, since he doesn't exactly remember it, but it was literally been the most important thing that happened to him in his young life. Roxy was born fifteen minutes after him, and that pretty much defined him forever. Roxy's brother. A twin. Roxy and Fred. As far as he's concerned those fifteen minutes without her were torture, and he can't imagine a world that she's not in. Life was happy for the Weasley twins. They had parents that adored them, a huge and amazing extended family, and each other. What more could a kid ever want. Fred always knew Roxy was more sensitive than he was, and he swore to always protect her. She might not always want his protection, but he's never broken that promise.
3. Gryffindor. Being sorted away from Roxy was a shock. He had expected them to be together, like always. So when the hat shouted Hufflepuff Fred couldn't quite cope with it. How was he supposed to function for seven years when the rest of him was in Hufflepuff? It was very hard for him at first, so much of his identity had been built around being Roxy's brother. All he had left was living uo to his Uncle Fred's name, and he threw himself into that with wild abandon. He made a name for himself as the school prankster. He broke into Filch's office and made copies of all Fred and George's detention records, and tried to recreate and improve on all their best pranks. He was clever, and extremely creative, so he was able to do a pretty decent job of it. What he didn't do was apply himself to his studies, but he didn't care about grades. He was going to work in the shop with his Dad, he didn't need grades.
4. The Massacre. Fred and Roxy had just been getting ready to board the train for the final time when everything went to Hell. They escaped, but nothing was the same again. Once he graduated he wanted to join Sector 3 with his father, but for the first time his poor grades really hurt him. He didn't qualify, and was sent to Sector 1 instead. He was a strong dueler, when he tried, and now Fred was really trying. He took his Sector very seriously, even if it wasn't his first choice, and he wasn't going to let anyone down.
5. His mother's death hit him very hard. He didn't blame Roxy, he was just glad she was alive, but he couldn't believe that his mother was really gone. It didn't seem real. He still has trouble remembering sometimes, even a year later. He dedicated himself even more to his training, and refuses to let anything happen to anyone else he loves. HAPPIEST MEMORY: Flying for the first time with Roxy, on their tiny matching brooms. SADDEST MEMORY: Seeing his mother's body. WHAT WOULD YOUR CHARACTER LIKELY BE DOING IF THEY WERE NOT AT WAR? Working at WWW, helping his father create new and wonderful jokes and pranks. WHERE ARE THEY NOW?: Fred spends a lot of time training and on patrols, but he hasn't lost his love of invention and cool spells. He sneaks into his dad's workshop whenever he can to spend time with him and tinker with Sector 3 stuff. He also bugs Roxy whenever he can. He's a social creature at heart, and doesn't like spending time alone. So if his father and sister are busy he'll seek out some of his many cousins or friends.

PLOT IDEAS: Fred needs to find an identity for himself outside of his family. He is not just his father's son, his sister's brother, his dead uncles namesake. He spends so much of his life trying to be what he thinks he's supposed to that he's never really figured out who he is. He also needs to accept that his family have lives of their own and he doesn't get to know everything about them at all times. I'd also like to form some friendships, maybe even find love, who knows! Plus there's always the danger of the war, and I doubt anyone in sector 1 is escaping it unscathed.
