How well do you know the character's source material?: I've read and re-read the books, religiously set time aside for the HBO series and have pushed the series written and televised on half a dozen people. I kinda love it like a fat kid loves cake.
What objects will your character have from their world? Brienne's armor and Renly's standard.
What locations will your character bring from their world? None.

Character Information (Please answer all questions IN CHARACTER)

Name: Ann Tomas
Reincarnation: Brienne of Tarth
Age/Birthday: August 15, 1980
Sexuality: Straight
Occupation: Former Ordnance Specialist for the US Army. Currently unemployed re-adjusting to civilian life.
Appearance: Beg your pardon?

[OOC: Ann is tall for a woman, just shy of six feet and her build tends to be on the athletic straight and narrow side rather than the curves most women sport. She's solid without being overly muscular and is heavier than she looks. Ann would be prettier if she smiled more, woman has a smile that would light up the Vegas strip.

Overall Ann is attractive in the girl-next-door sort of way. Brown hair, brown eyed and prone to light freckling she's as far from exotic as it gets. Her time in the military means that she always keeps a neat appearance though you'd best be expecting a punch to the face if skirt is ever suggested. Ann's at her most comfortable in uniform, currently her civies consists of far too many shirts and jeans.]

Abilities/Talents: Classified.

[OOC: Trained solider possessing the attributes and skills of a person suited to military life. The specifics of her former occupation aren't meant for public consumption as the handling of nuclear ammunition isn't casual dinner conversation. Needless to say Ann has steady hands and is mechanically inclined enough to make most gadget and car repair fairly easy.

Ann's true talent, the one thing that comes as easily as breathing is fighting. In her heart she's ugly on the outside, in her heart she's every bit as strong and skilled as Brienne. She's a woman who can fight like a man and more importantly she excels at it. Lacking a sword she uses her fist. She had made a name for herself in the Armed Services boxing circuit though she found it limiting.]

Personality: I was am a soldier. A good soldier.

[OOC: First impressions, as they say, are the most important and Ann has a nasty habit of falling flat upon initial meetings. She's quiet, doesn't really see the point in idle chit chat or wearing her heart on her sleeve. Expected courtesies are easy, a universal script that anyone with manners is taught to follow and Ann spits out her 'hellos, thank yous, yes sirs, yes m'ams, beg your pardons and my apologies' without thinking about it. She's a robot a very polite robot and it's her own damn fault combined with peoples lack of patience that keep her from moving outside of the 'dependable but boring' category.

Her comrades-in-arms aren't going to tell you you're wrong either, not at first anyway. Ann's got her layers, she just doesn't put her personality out there like most people. She reveals herself in small ways. The fact she's always on time, you never have to ask for anything twice and if you need someone to cover you Ann is there before you even have to say anything. She knows how to take a joke, the small yet vaguely cocky half grin says and as for humor...yeah, she's got a flair for it only it's the dry kind and tends to make itself known when you're least expecting it.

Ann's at her best when she's under pressure. Her nerves don't jangle, she's the calm in the eye of the storm and she radiates a kind of self assurance that says yes, she's going to get shit done and it'll be done right, thanks. On the flip side she's maddeningly stubborn, even arrogant when it comes to her hard-edged views of right and wrong (this has, in many ways, gotten worse since the advent of Brienne). Yeah, she likes to keep it black and white, simple is the best way. She knows in her heart that isn't entirely true but she's her own worst enemy in that regard.

Overall Ann's the only child that spent too much time on her own. In some ways it's made her stronger in others it's made her fundamentally flawed and an unshakeable pain in the ass.]

Home(s) and Location: Bethlehem, Pennsylvania

History: I was born and raised in Pennsylvania. My father was a career soldier and managed to be successful in something he didn't even care for. He was always amused and disappointed at that. Regretted it too, I think. My mother was a housewife. A gentle woman who lived for her marriage and the promise of children that came with it. They had me later in life and they called me their firstborn even if it wasn't exactly true.

Childhood was easy. There wasn't anything for me to worry about. I had what I needed and on occasion I got what I wanted. It was just the three of us. Sometimes that was all we needed other times it was almost lonely. Life went on like that for awhile, all of us getting older only I was getting taller while the stoop in my parents' shoulders was making them shorter.

Highschool was difficult, though that's the norm rather then the exception, right? I mean, I had my teenage angst, my crushes and the fact I was as awkward as a newborn foal didn't help. Echoes of Brienne were with my then, I didn't realize it at the time but looking back it isn't all that hard to see. The taunting, the name calling...it never got to me all that much. Words are wind. They don't cut like swords.

My mother died in my senior year. The doctors had caught the cancer too late and she died the same week she was diagnosed. The funeral was small. Just me and my father. It might have been kinder to put him in the ground along with her but that wasn't the way of it. We had career day back in school not long after that.

I don't know who was more surprised with my signing up with the army - me or my father. It's not like I had shown any interest in the armed forces before then but it was something and getting the hell out Bethlehem seemed like a good idea.

I excelled in boot camp. I can thank Brienne for that. Routine, purpose, brotherhood...yeah, me being a woman made it difficult to fit in but you know what I did. I worked my ass for it and the harder I worked the better I felt. My father died two years into my first tour of duty. I was overseas and it would be another year before I could come back home and when I did I stayed long enough to get the bills settled. Mourning would come later and while my commanding officer wanted to kick my ass for showing up on base two weeks ahead of schedule he let me stay all the same.

Twelve years I served and no, I'm not about to give you all the details on that just yet. Some of its classified most of its personal and quite frankly I've said enough already and am getting damn tired of saying 'I'. Yeah, people are supposed to like talking about themselves but I find it exhausting.

Give me some time, all right? Once I get this life after service bit figured out I'm bound to get more talkative.

Please list the ten most important things about your character:

1. Jaime, Jaime, Jaime. The name sets her teeth on edge, makes her heart skip a beat and her cheeks flush red.
2. Doesn't like to be alone so much as she's resigned herself to being alone.
3. Didn't lost her virginity until her 29th year. It wasn't an especially memorable night and Ann had gone through the whole thing as an after thought.
4. Doesn't like mirrors, only has one in her home and that's in the bathroom.
5. The unfinished quest to find Sansa Stark is a chronic source of anxiety.
6. Had the option to re-enlist and declined.
7. Brienne's armor is far too big for her to wear and while the world has long since moved on from chain mail and swords the disappointment Ann feels about not being able to wear it is great.
8. Ann has all of the ASOFAI books she hasn't read them preferring to get the information through Brienne's point of view.
9. She'd like to know that Renly is alive and that he knows she didn't kill him.
10. The only jewelry she wears is a gold chain taken from her mother's neck the day she died.

Samples (You may provide links to sample journals or posts in general. If you're already a member of the community then you do not need to give further examples).

Here are a few examples from Forgotten Gods. I played a fair number of characters during the game's duration though my favorites were the personifications of Nuclear Power, War of the Four Horsemen and Medusa.
