- Is a Time lord (last of, in fact); has two hearts - which beat at 80-90 bpm per heart, the two heart rates are not synchronized, and thus electronic monitoring devices will likely read the rate as twice what it actually is (ie: 160-180 bpm); a respiratory bypass system (which enables him to hold his breath for a very long time or un/willingly stop breathing for just under twenty minutes or so; two extra ribs; a core body temperature of 15 degrees Celsius.
- His skeleton is more flexible and shock-absorbent than a humans.
- His brain is much larger and more complex than the human brain. The size differences effectively ruled out brain transplants from a Timelord/Gallifreyan to a human. He has a form of photographic memory, able to recall every detail of even the most insignificant moments in time.
- His blood is different from human blood, darker and with a slight orange tinge to it. The differences were readily apparent under a microscope. It doesn't have the same A and B types as human blood (i.e., the A and B antibodies were not present). The extra-cellular matrix is incompatible with Earth-based life and the structure of haemoglobin is different.
- Timelords/Gallifreyans also have DNA in a triple-helix formation.
- Unlike humans (and despite appearances) Timelords are not hominid and did not evolve from apes.
- Timelords can survive extreme temperatures and even the subzero temperatures and extremely low pressure of vacuum for around six minutes. They can also survive strong electric shocks that would be fatal to a human.
- Rontgen Radiation affected Gallifreyans so minimally that Gallifreyan children were routinely given radioactive toys in the nursery. They could, at will, absorb very high doses of Röntgen radiation, transform it into a form harmless to humans, and expel it from their bodies. Radiation of other kinds could be fatal, but even then a Gallifreyan could handle much higher doses than a normal human could, and could hold out much longer than even then most terrestrial life-forms.
- Timelords/Gallifreyans are immune to the effect of helium gas, which can make human voices sound high-pitched and squeaky.
- Talks with an Estuary English accent (but can switch to others if he feels like it.)
- Allergic to a lot of Human medication. So much in fact, that a single aspirin would kill him. Anaesthetic does not work on them. Sleeping pills/sedatives work but take roughly twice as long to work than it would on a human - even if they were given/take double the dose.
- Timelords are aware of foreign objects or substances inside or attached to their bodies. It creates an almost physical 'itch'.
- Doesn't sleep often (if at all). He doesn't actually need to...nor does he want to (so many things to see and do, why waste time sleeping?)
- Continuation from the sleeping topic -- he doesn't understand why certain species (particularly humans) have not yet evolved so as they don't need sleep. He often comments to the humans he travels with about this - something along the lines of, they have such short lives as it is; moan that they don't have enough 'time' to do things; and yet a large majority of their lives are just taken up by sleeping!
- Another continuation on the 'sleep topic'. Although he doesn't need to sleep regularly for any reason, if he is hurt or ill (not so much that it would cause him to regenerate) his body will place itself in a 'healing sleep' or a self-induced coma - in order to heal quicker - but only if there is no imminent threat - which lowers their temperature to below freezing.
- Can push his own feelings/emotions/illness and injuries down if he is still needed.
- Hates pears! Really really really really haaaaates!!!!!!
- Loves tea! Any tea...he doesn't mind...just tea. Can't beat a good cuppa. That said, don't give him tea and leave the pot of sugar...he'll be tempted to just keep adding sugar until there's more of it than tea, in the cup. He's manic as it is now...imagine him on a sugar-high.
- Likes little shops ... yep, that's it...there's no reasoning for it...he just does.
- Claims he can speak 5 billion languages...but the majority are probably due to the telepathic feed from the TARDIS. Or she at least makes it much easier and quicker for him to learn a new language.
