Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who : Chase Winters, Penn Royce, and any of the Glee Karaoke patrons who want to pipe up!
What : Glee Karaoke -- From 'No Air' to 'The Thong Song' followed by 'Push It'.
Where : 213.
When : Sunday, 11/29. After the midnight hour.
Rating : NC-17 .. Penn/Chase don't fuck around people! Oh, wait .. nvm!
Open : To Karaoke people, yes!

Admittedly, Penn hadn't really wanted to do this karaoke thing but he'd always had a hard time turning Mandie down when she asked him to do something. Besides, if everybody else was going to be there making fools of themselves, he really didn't see a problem with it. Plus, Penn had a rather outgoing sort of personality. He liked to show off and, oddly enough, he actually could sing even if he told everybody that he couldn't. So when he climbed up on stage that first time with Dani to sing 'No Air,' he was sure he took a couple of people by surprise. What?! The boy had a good voice. His best friend definitely had the better vocals but, whatever, he could do some karaoke like a champ! After belting it out with Belmont, he took a breather for awhile and sat back to watch the others do their thing.

He took a seat at the bar, relaxing on one of the stools with his sneaker covered feet pushed against the bottom rung. He was dressed in a pair of faded blue jeans that were torn at the knee and the back pocket along with some old team jersey shirt that was hidden beneath an over-sized black hooded sweatshirt. He'd had his head shaved the day before so it was real short again, no longer that mess of blonde to grab hold of. And yet, he'd opted to keep the bit of facial fuzz that tried to pass for a goatie. He ordered up a Guinness as he sat and probably went through two or three before it was his turn to get back on stage. At some point, he'd noticed Chase wander in. Whether she came with her siblings, he didn't know. But he offered her a nod and raised his bottle to her before setting it on the bartop and getting off his stool.

In moments, he was back on stage with the mic in hand, clearing his throat and letting the corner of his mouth curl up in a smirk. As the music began to play, he began to move with it. His right shoulder bounced up before he rolled his head to the right and let the left bounce up instead, his hips moving slightly as he moved to the beat. "Ooh, dat dress so scandalous and ya know another guy couldn't handle it. See ya shakin' that thang like who's da ish, with a look in ya eye so devilish. Uh .. ya like to dance at all the hip hop spots and ya cruise to the crews like connect da dots. Not just urban, she likes the pop cuz she was livin' la vida loca .." Shifting slightly to the left, he moved his right hand to unzip his hoodie and let it fall open, dancing pretty well to the music even if his rapping left a little to be desired.

"She had dumps like a truck truck truck. Thighs like what what what. Baby move your butt butt butt. All night long, let me see that thooooooong." He was really getting into it and by the time he got to the final chorus, his hoodie was on the floor. Why and how? Who knows. It's safer not to try and explain things that Penn does. As he finished, he took a bow and grabbed his hoodie off the floor before putting the mic back and returning to the bar. "Thank you, thank you!" He said to the obvious cheers and jeers .. more jeers than cheers, I'm sure. But whatever. He had a good time.

Climbing back up on his stool, he snatched up his beer and took a long drag to wet his now seriously dry throat. Leaning forward, he spoke to the bartender who just nodded and continued to dry a glass. "Remind me not to do that ever again." Though, he knew he would. Cheese ball.

Chase was the kind of outgoing that made it very easy for her to come along for the ride, so to speak. She didn't karaoke often, but that was simply because she didn't normally have occasion to. Tonight, however, she did. And it didn't matter that some of the people in the crowd were complete strangers. Chase really didn't know Mandie any better than her brother or sister did. Hell, she barely knew Dani. But not knowing people had never stopped her before. So, when she'd finished with her errands, she had absolutely headed over to 213, courtesy of a cab. She might have gone with her siblings, but they had both gone earlier as far as she knew, and the next smartest thing to do after that was the cab. Though she wasn't exactly an alcoholic, Chase could throw down drinks with the best of them. That was why she wasn't taking any chances. She'd either call a cab to take her home or get a ride with Jake or something. Or both, depending on how plastered her brother was.

She had sauntered in just before Penn had gone back up on the stage. She probably would've been disappointed in missing the duet with Dani, but if her sister wasn't kidding, she figured she'd see the tape eventually. Having flashed Penn one of her flirty, devil-may-care smiles, Chase had made her way over to the bar where she, herself, ordered a couple of drinks.

She was settling in with her first drink of the night when she heard the song Penn was singing, and honestly? Chase almost spit her drink out. She had to swallow quickly before letting out a laugh as she twisted in her seat to watch Penn do his thing. Her hand had to cover her mouth to keep her from laughing through the whole song. Not that Penn was a bad singer -- he wasn't. But to hear him rapping/singing the Thong song, out of all possible songs .. it was hilarious. And no, he would never hear the end of this one. She would make sure of it.

As she finished that first round of drinks, Chase hopped off the stool and began to make her rounds, mostly to say hi to her siblings, Dani, and to introduce herself to the hostess, Mandie. Once she'd made her rounds, Chase decided to throw herself into the mix. When there was a break in performers, she made her way to the stage. And, not one to play coy, as soon as the intro music for her chosen song came on, Chase kind of swayed her hips to get into the groove of the song. "Last night I got served a little bit too much of that poison baby. Last night I did things I'm not proud of, and I got a little crazy. Last night I met a guy on the dance floor and I let him call me baby and I don't even know his last name .. oh, my mama would be so ashamed. It started off "Hey cutie, where ya from, and then it turned into 'oh no, what have I done' and I don't even know his last name." Her singing voice was pure, maybe a little throatier than one might expect. Not that she was the next Sarah Brightman or anything, but her background in music definitely helped. She somehow made the song sound decent, given the fact that she'd had a few drinks already, and that she wasn't really a singer by trade.

Once Chase was done looking and sounding like a beer commercial (okay, close enough), she hopped back down off the stage and headed back towards the bar. Spotting Penn from behind, she grinned and walked over to him, throwing an arm around his shoulders. "If only the mic didn't have a cord. I would've been over here giving you a lapdance or something." She pulled back from him, ordering herself a shot, before facing him. After brushing some of her hair out of her eyes, she looked him over unabashedly, and smirked. "So. You want to know what I think would be hotter than you doing the Thong Song, PT?" She waited a beat and flashed another grin. "A duet. With me. What say you?"

Those devil-may-care smiles of hers would be enough to get any man going, or at least that's how Penn felt. There was just something about that Winters girl that made him think bad thoughts far more often than humanly necessary. Of course, it probably had to do with the fact that she continued to refer to him 'affectionately' as PT and their conversations always had something to do with porn, fetishes, and the like. Strange how that worked, really. And yet, when they were face to face with one another, not a damn thing ever seemed to happen.

Sitting down on the stool, he'd just picked his beer up to take another long swig when he heard the next person hit the stage. What he wasn't expecting was for it to be Chase. He also hadn't expected her to sound quite the way she did. Not that it was bad, by any means, it was just rougher than her actual voice which .. let's face it, that voice could get mildly annoying after awhile with it's higher pitch. Thankfully, she was pretty enough that you just sucked it up and dealt with it. Haha!

Leaning against the bar, the corners of his lips tugged upward in a smirk as he held the beer in front of him and just watched her do her thing. "Definitely not what I expected." He muttered, more to himself than to anyone else that happened to be listening. Shaking his head, he turned back into the bar and finished off his beer before ordering up another.

He was busy focusing on the follow up refreshment when the music ended and he hadn't bothered to look to see where Chase had wandered off to. Probably should have. Next thing he knew, there was that voice speaking into his ear, the smirk returning to his face as he shifted on his stool. "Don't tease a man like that. I'm due for a good lapdance." He tipped his beer toward her with a grin before turning to face her as she continued to speak. "Hmm?" Her question peaked his interest but when she finally spit out the punchline, he laughed. "A duet, huh? What'd you have in mind?"

Chase really didn't know why she'd never actually tried to make a move on Penn. They flirted constantly, and she had absolutely no problem teasing him -- be it textually or verbally, but she hadn't tried anything on him. It was probably a first for her. While she wouldn't call herself slutty, Chase was fearless when it came to hitting on men, most of the time. It also wasn't really a secret that Chase had thought about getting 'dirrty' with Penn plenty of times. She supposed part of it had to do with the fact that she was never really sure just how serious Penn was when they flirted. For all she knew, he was humoring her. And fearless though she might be, she wasn't one to set herself up for complete failure. That was the egotistical part of her. Part of it probably had to do with the fact that Penn was a good guy, too. She liked him, which was saying a lot, given the fact that she was picky as hell about who she trusted. But she trusted him, and she liked him well enough, and honestly? She really didn't want to be the one to chew him up and spit him out. Would she ever actually give him a lapdance? Hell yes. Would she proposition him eventually? Probably. But more than not, she was making sure that she didn't end up losing a friend in the process. Gotta love the way her mind worked, right?

In any case, when Penn smirked at her, she grinned in return, grabbing the shot that was handed over to her. Without saying a word, she lifted the glass to her lips and threw the shot back, before dropping the glass to the counter, motioning for another one. The grin that had been present before became more of a smirk as he told her not to tease him like that. Leaning in towards him, she curled her arm around his neck, lips coming close to brushing against his ear as she murmured "Maybe if you're lucky, then," to him. Leaning back, she winked before laughing softly.

"Well, I did see a Salt-N-Pepa song on there somewhere. Push It. Know it?" Her eyes were lit up with a hint of mischief as she watched him, picking up her second shot glass. Or, fourth, depending on if you were counting the drinks she'd had before going up on stage.
