Summer is coming to an end. The season comes to a close and we look to new beginnings. Soon, the children will return to Hogwarts. The new Quidditch season will begin. Shop owners will put out new merchandise. Families will grow. And so on, and so on.

Now that Quidditch Team Trials are over, I put this to you new (and old) professional players: with great power comes great responsibility. What will you do with your power? Will you let the media run amok with your image, or will you use your image to inspire such change for a better future?

Or, on the monetary front, will you use your image to help further business? To inspire economic blossoming? To therefor provide jobs to the jobless, to stimulate the economy, and to put a profit in the hands of struggling merchants? Or did you not realize you had such power?

I hope you liked the gift I sent on your birthday. I brought it all the way from Spain, just for you, and it is quite valuable. Pretty girls should have pretty things.

Any exciting cases lately?

[Mr. Duke]
Have you talked to your band mates yet?

I did have a fairly interesting one last week. A bloke out in Chiswick was selling enchanted toasters out of his small electrics shop. He'd charmed them to toast bread nearly instantly, but the charm had started malfunctioning and the devices had started snapping at people's fingers when they reached for the bread.

Hm. Sounds less interesting when I see it written out like that. But it was!

You have anything exciting of late?

Possessive Toasters? That is interesting. I think I heard a rumor about that one in the office.

My latest was fairly standard. Just a young kid's accidental magic that turned a teddy bear into a real bear. Poor kids don't realize what that means at that age.

Well, I think what made it particularly interesting was the sheer volume of them he'd managed to enchant. There were over 30 recovered in the greater Chiswick area alone, and related reports had them cropping up as far afield as Clacton-on-Sea!

That is...most unfortunate. Especially for the little one. Children are so impressionable - my Ron had something similar happen with a teddy bear when he was small, it was turned into a spider by his brothers. Still has a phobia about them to this day - can't say I blame him.

That is quite a number of toasters.

Yes, when you're a kid wishing your teddy bear was real is a great wish. When you're a magical kid, it can be deadly. To your neighbors.

It was quite industrious of him, indeed.

Er, quite.

Not as of yet, but I'm thinking that we'll be discussing things in the next couple of weeks. I'll let you know as soon as I have.

Uncle Pete, have you been reading Spiderman comics again?

The quote is actually much older than the 1962 issue of Spider Man in which Uncle Ben first appears and later dies. But yes, I have always enjoyed the comics.

Good choice. Stan Lee created a good one with Peter Parker.
