Panic is part of life, and is healthy because you do not believe that you are invincible. Believe it or not, there was a time when I felt afraid all of the time. I'm pleased that your professor was able to give you some advice for how to better protect your family.
If it pleases you, I will do my best to check in on them from time to time while you are away at school. Naturally, it was once my home as well, so I would be more than pleased to stop by for a visit and see how things are going.
Please do not think in any way that they are at risk because of you. The case of Susan Bones is an isolated incident. You will be safe at Hogwarts, and your family will be safe at my watch.
