[Name] Colton Geoffrey Griffin [Birthdate] 16 May 1982 [Age] 25 [Orientation] Heterosexual [Location] Chicago, Illinois [Occupation] Freelance photographer for a local newspaper [Fairy-Tale Character] Prometheus [Abilities] He is cunning and inventive, sometimes boldly or intrepidly so, when the need arises. He has a creative streak and a great deal of originality, and he's quite adept at finding clever solutions to problems. [Link to source] here [Appearance] He stands at roughly 6'0", and his build is trim and slender. His physique is slim but accentuated with a fair bit of toned muscle. His skin is naturally an olive hue, and it darkens slightly if he spends time in the sun. His hair is dark brown and wavy, and his tendency to keep his hair slightly overlong makes it appear slightly unruly at times. His eyes are a blue-green color and convey every emotion he is feeling at any given moment. His features are pleasantly attractive and handsome, with defined cheekbones, a slim, straight nose, and a strong jawline, which is sometimes accented by five o'clock shadow. The first thing that many people noticed about him is his easy, disarming smile. His style of dress is typically casual and comfortable; he can usually be found attired in jeans, a t-shirt, and old, worn sneakers. However, should the need arise, he is quite capable of cleaning up nicely for the occasion. His entire demeanor does very little to draw attention to him; in fact, he prefers to linger in the background and merely observe in most situations. [Portrayed-By] Hugh Dancy [Samples] one;;two;; three;;four [Personality] Colton is a kind, caring individual at heart, and he tries to be friendly to almost everyone. He's polite and respectable to almost everyone, especially when he's in the presence of his elders or other authority figures. He possesses a quiet maturity and reliability, but he does have his moments of childishness and silliness. He is intelligent, but he did not always apply his full efforts to his studies when he was in school. He can usually buckle down and complete all of his work on time, but he would much rather be spending time with his friends or occupying himself with one of his hobbies. Despite this fact, his cleverness and determination eventually come to the forefront and he focuses and finishes any task he's been given. He inherited his mother's gentle, easygoing temperament, so he takes a very laidback approach to most things. However, he can also be boisterous and exuberant when the mood strikes him. When he is in one of his more energetic moods, he can seem a bit quirky and excitable. His sense of humor is typically dry and sarcastic, but he also has his moments of completely random, off the wall goofiness that rarely makes sense to anyone who isn't familiar with him. Despite how laidback he is about most things, he becomes quite flustered when in an embarrassing situation or something of that nature. He's very laidback and relaxed about most things, so it takes a great deal to provoke him to anger. When he is pushed to his limits, he tries to restrain his anger and walk away until he calms down, and he has developed a knack for keeping his temper under control. Instead, he internalizes his anger and withdraws from everyone until he moves past whatever angered him in the first place. Colton can be a bit shy and withdrawn. In fact, he even has a tendency to babble if he finds himself in an embarrassing or unfamiliar situation. However, once you draw him out of his shell, he's one of the most loyal individuals you could ever hope to meet. Once you befriend him, you have a friend and ally for life. On the other end of the spectrum, he can hold grudges against those who insult him or the people he cares about, and it takes a great deal to make his change his mind about anyone who had angered him in the past. Despite the fact that he looks as though he would be a real charmer where woman are concerned, he's actually rather hopeless with females. He has his moments of charm, but they're often unintentional and come off as more innocent and slightly bumbling than anything else. [History] Colton was born to Margaret Griffin on May 16, 1982 in Chicago, Illinois. His parents were engaged at the time of his conception, but they separated when his mother learned that she was pregnant. His father left town, which left his mother to get through the pregnancy on her own, and neither Margaret nor Colton have heard from him since his departure. Margaret made certain that Colton always had anything he could ever need, working extra shifts as a waitress while he stay at a childcare center. His mother was loving and affectionate, and Colton never felt any remorse for the lack of material possessions. His early school years were rather uneventful. Due to his shy nature, Colton mostly kept to himself, but he did have several playmates at friends during his years in elementary school. It was during this time that his mother began dating a banker named Robert, and they were married shortly before Colton's eighth birthday. Colton had taken an immediate liking to Robert upon meeting him for the first time, so it came as no surprise that Robert proved to be an excellent father figure for the young boy. Most of Colton's middle school and high school years were occupied with schoolwork and typical teenage activities. While he was still one of the least extroverted children in his class, he participated in various clubs and organizations during school. On his thirteenth birthday, Margaret and Robert gave him a camera as a present, which sparked an avid interest in photography. He was soon spending hours of his free time wandering around town, snapping photos of scenes of everyday life and any other subject that caught his eye. Colton graduated from high school with a high ranking and an acceptance letter to New York University. He bid farewell to his parents and went off to college. His college experience was perhaps not the typical one; he didn't attend parties and he spent a great deal of his time outside of class exploring the city and taking advantage of all the photographic opportunities New York offered. Colton graduated from NYU with a major in photography and a minor in art history, for he had always expressed an interest in art despite his own lack of artistic ability. After graduation, Colton returned to Chicago and found a modestly-sized apartment to rent. Shortly after returning to the city, he started doing freelance photography for a local newspaper, which is how he earns his pay and spends most of his time these days. He is not yet aware that he is a Tale. He has always recognized that he's very skilled at coming up with inventive solutions, but he has not yet realized what that means exactly. Storylines Based on The Perks of Being a Wallflower characters. Patrick – One of Colton's closest friends. At first, it didn't seem like they should get along, much less form a friendship, but now their friendship is immediately evident to almost anyone who knows them. Colton knows he can confide in this person, and he considers them to be one of the most important people in his life. Sam – Colton's other best friend. She also happens to be the girl that he is in love with, although he maintains their friendship and does not make his feelings known. He doesn't want to jeopardize the deep friendship they share, so he never attempts to further the relationship. He values this person a great deal and they are very dear to him. Mary Elizabeth – One of Colton's friends, though he is not as close to them as he is to the Patrick or the Sam. He dated her for a while, but his heart was not in it due to his love for the Sam. After he ended their relationship, they remained fairly close, and he still considers her a friend. Bill – This person is something of a mentor to Colton. They took him under their wing and encouraged his talents, while attempting to draw him out of his shell at the same time. Colton values this person's opinion and holds a great deal of respect and gratitude for everything they have done for him. The Sister [dumtweedle] – Colton views this person as a sibling figure. They may not always get along, in fact, their relationship seems to vary constantly, but Colton will always be there for her if she needs him. Colton worries about her sometimes, but he's not always sure how to help her, so he simply does the best he can. The Brother – Colton also views this person as a sibling. The Brother is talented and well-respected, and Colton admires his abilities. They might not always share the closest relationship at times, but Colton always values this person as a friend. Bob [open to multiple] [fire_charmer] – Colton's more casual friends. There is not a lot of substance to their friendship at the moment, but these people are always good for a laugh or just to spend some time with. These people are more outgoing and exuberant than Colton, so he is always amused by them. |
