Mmhmm? Hi, love. I miss you. I missed you like crazy when you weren't here and I miss you now because I think you're avoiding me and I don't know why I said that except that I've had a few eggnogs. I mean it, though. I am so selfishly glad that you're here but I don't want the bond I have with you to be ruined because we don't believe the same thing. We didn't agree on Margaret Thatcher but we made it through, didn't we?

It wasn't the eggnog that made me dangerous, ha, it was you.

Because my heart tells me to. James knew things I would never have told him if I didn't trust him and that he never would have found out through stalking me or torturing my parents for information. I made lots of lists and diagrams and timelines and put together what I knew for sure and how those facts lined up with the things he told me and the things Bellatrix had told me and, in the end, his story just makes more logical sense and my hearts tells me that's because he's not lying.

And Harry. Harry is my son, Sirius. I can't deny him any more than I can deny my own foot. I don't want to deny my foot, though. Merlin, that would make it difficult to walk. I'm getting off track. But what I mean is, even without the leap of faith I have to take to believe either side without my own solid memories, Harry is solid proof that I have a son. Whatever the circumstances around that, Bellatrix never told me I had a son. Why would she withhold that information from me if she was on my side?

It doesn't make sense. Nothing, really, that she said made sense. Haven't you ever questioned the things they say? Because I have—I do, all the time. And she doesn't really like it when I ask questions. I thought, before, that maybe she was just hurt when I questioned her, but I think she was irritated that I didn't just blindly believe everything she told me.

But I don't think there's just one truth anymore, do you? There is no either/or because there are two lives we've had—the one we remember and the one we don't. And I don't want to throw either one of them away. The past six years have been important to me and I don't want to lose the memory of that any more than I want to continue on without the memories of our pasts.

Can you just leave Sirilla's room for one night and come stay with me? I miss you. I want to give you a hug.
