PERSONALITY: CONTENT WARNINGS: Lucy, her mother, and sister were all sold into sex work at young ages. The personality and history will have mentions of sex trafficking, sexual assault, underage sex, etc. Also mention of murder

Growing up with expectations like Lucy had, ideals put in her head by her mother, she had always seen herself as above the other harlots in the house. She expected that she was better than they were. She’d been a more innocent girl at that time. Yes, she knew quite a bit about the life of harlots, but she’d had no part in it, no real emotional understanding of it. Because of these high expectations, she could be bratty and rude toward the other girls, causing a rift between her and them.

She was never particularly good at knowing when to joke with people and when not to. She wasn’t even very good, really, at talking to people. She’s still not great at it, even now. A little encouragement goes a long way with her and she’s unable to see the point when she should stop until after she’s gone too far and made things bad for herself.

Being a part of George’s death has haunted her. It was the knowledge of what she’d done that made her accept Lord Fallon in a way. They were both murderers, both dangerous creatures. It was in this way that she began to think of herself. She saw herself as a person unable to be saved, unable to be redeemed in any way. It changed her entirely as a person. She became more cruel in a way, harder. She didn’t want anyone to stop her from her decisions because she felt that she deserved the life she got. Only she found herself more and more a part of that life, like she fit in with it. She blinded herself to Lord Fallon’s faults because she believed herself also guilty of those same things. Anyone that attempted to tell her any different was immediately shut down.

Under Lord Fallon's care, she became a crueler human, a person that prided herself on her ability to kill (even if she hadn't really killed so much, she still blamed herself). She smiled and talked, but she still held herself above everyone else. She still considered herself above those around her because Lord Fallon made her feel that way. She was safe, she was protected. Nothing these people did could touch her. She believed in him and protected him in return because that was the way she saw things and she was certain that her mother had it out for Lord Fallon unfairly. There was some benefits, though. She did become stronger and more confident in herself. She learned to defend herself.

The news of her mother’s death has broken her even further than she already was, but she has come out of it with the very serious knowledge that she will not let anyone force her into anything ever again and she will not ruin her soul by killing another person again. She cannot be a Spartan, be a murderer because she doesn’t want to be any of those things. She wants most of all to focus on her family and to focus on keeping what’s left of it together. She still isn't perfect, but she's learning and she's trying.

HISTORY: Lucy was the youngest of Margaret Wells’ children. She was raised in a bawd house since she was little. She was given schooling and a regular childhood - comparatively speaking. She was not made to take culls for a while. When the constables came with a warrant for her mother, she was dressed as a boy and made to go find her sister. It took some time to get there, but she made her way (not entirely bravely) to go find her, sleeping in the stables for a little while before she did.

Bringing Charlotte to the court house did not go as planned for their mother, but at least she came. She knew that she was going to have to sell her virginity eventually, but she’d meant to have more time. Only since her mother had lost a lot of money, Charlotte suggested that selling her virginity was the answer to her problems. At first, their mother was reluctant, but she pushed to have it done because she wanted to help. Before she went to be seen, her mother repeated the story she told over and over about being sold to a bawd by her mother. The show they went to see was a particularly beautiful one and it moved her, so she wept. Her mother had thought it a negative thing, but in the end, it ended up working in her favor.

She didn’t feel that she was ready, but Charlotte gave her what likely was meant to be a pep talk. George bought her virginity, but she could not please him, so she begged him not to tell her mother. It was a thoroughly disappointing situation. She learned firsthand the cruelty of men.

Unbeknownst to her, her mother had accepted a second offer for her virginity. Her mother told her of it later, of course. Instead of allowing her virginity to be taken out of her hands, she offered it up to a stableboy. She wanted to remember her first time the way she wanted and not as the mess that was her time with George.

The ride to Lord Repton’s house was not what she’d signed on for. She hadn’t been told she was leaving London and she’d been met with impoliteness when she asked to turn around. It was new and different from the way things happened at their house and she was not familiar with being treated this way herself. She was given a present - a little doll (“for our little doll”). She was bathed and given an outfit to wear while they went hunting. This turned into being chased through the woods and shot at until she ended up killing a deer, which was somewhat traumatizing for her. She’d thought it a person at first, but was relieved to find it was a deer. The rest of the night got worse from there.

When she returned, she was to entertain men, but she found herself not up for the task and more timid and unwilling than before. It was a continuing problem. She went to Charlotte for advice regarding men. It was at the party with her sister that she first met Lord Fallon. She challenged him to come to their mother’s masquerade, making a bold move for her, something more like Charlotte than like her. But Sir George made a spectacle and forced Charlotte to leave early. She was seen safely home by one of Charlotte’s friends.

At the masquerade party, she met up with Lord Fallon again and he spoke to her of Persephone. She wasn’t sure what to make of it, so she slipped off. George found her and took her off to sleep with him, another one of his ways of punishing Charlotte for something he found issue with.

She went to see Charlotte the next morning only to find just George. He was particularly inappropriate, suggesting maybe he could keep both her and Charlotte. She was uncomfortable, so she left. Later she found Charlotte and apologized even though she was told she needn’t do so. Lord Fallon stopped by the house shortly after, supposed to be showing interest in being her keeper. Later, when he returned, he made her eat pomegranates and she felt herself uncomfortable. She felt scared of him and she begged her mother not to make her go with him, which led to an argument. In the end, however, her mother promised she would not make her accept his offer.

The problem was that Sir George decided he was to be her keeper. Her mother decided on it for her. He wanted to be the one to tell her, so he did. Of course, she didn’t react the way he’d wanted. He told her that she could never ever refuse him and she found herself with a knife in her hand and the blade in his side. It was an action that would forever change her. By the end of the day, he was dead. The guilt of it weighed heavily on her even if it had been her mother’s actions that killed him. It was her fault that the situation had arrived in the first place. Nothing could be the same again.

That night, they had to get the body out of the house and clean up the room. It wasn’t the way she’d wanted things to end, but it was the way they had. The idea was to keep anyone from being caught or arrested. It didn’t quite work out that way. His body was found and Charlotte and Daniel were arrested for the crime. She wanted to turn herself in, but her mother wouldn’t allow her. Once she’d apologized, her mother sent her out.

Lord Fallon’s contract came the next morning and her mother told her to burn it even as she told her mother she would go with him. There was so much money offered. Her mother told her that he would never force another man on her again. In the end, she accepted his contract.

With Lord Fallon she learned how to use a sword, how to enjoy being with someone. She grew more confident, but also more cruel. All around her things happened, but she pushed everyone away and refused to accept what they were saying. It took the news that her mother died for her to wake up to the person that Lord Fallon really was. Nancy held her back to keep her from killing him, but she’d decided not to darken her soul with his.
