Tuesday: March/3/09 - Phone: Kai/Kim Kai: *calls* Kim: *answers* Hello? Kai: Hey, hun! Kim: *brightly* Hey Kai! How are you? Kai: SO STRESSED! Kim: How come? Kai: Well, I'm shipping most of my luggage, because I'm a terrible packer.. always take too much, it's far too cold where you kids live. Anyway, I keep buying more stuff.. *quickly* Don't you dare tell me to stop, I'm allowed to spoil my grandbabies… so I'm just surrounded by a year's worth of STUFF to bring. Kim: *stunned* Oh. Um. Wow. *small laugh* That sounds like a lot. Kai: Don't you worry, sweetie.. I won't actually stay a year, just feels like it from all the stuff I'm buried under right now. Kim: Oh, I'm not worried. No way. I'm so glad you're coming. You have no idea. Kai: I think I've got everything taken care of, so you kids won't have to worry about anything. I'm getting a rental car, despite Starbuck's protests, so don't either of you dare pick me up from the airport. Kim: But you really don't need to get a rental car, Kai. If you don't want either of us picking you up, can we at least get one of our friends to go get you? Kai: Not a chance. It'll be good for us to have two cars while I'm there. I'm not going to borrow yours the whole time. Kim: *sighs* Alright, I guess you have a point. Kai: Of course I do. Kim: *smiles* I'm so excited for you to get here. Kai: Me too, sweetie. So much sooner than we planned, but I can't wait. Kim: I'm glad I don't have to be pregnant for much longer, but I'm still scared. Kai: It's normal to be scared, dear, but you're going to be fine. I promise. Kim: I know. I'm trying to stay calm and positive. Kai: Is Starbuck helping with that? Because if he's not, I'll give him a good talking to. Kim: *laughs softly* Don't worry, he's definitely helping. He won't let me do much around the apartment anymore. Kai: Good boy. Kim: You have an amazing son. Kai: I'm pretty damn proud of him. Kim: With good reason. I don't think I could get through this without him. Kai: I'm glad you have each other. Kim: *smiles* Me too. Even though I'm yelling at him kinda often lately. Not that he's done anything wrong though. Stupid hormones. Kai: I'm sure he understands. I was the same way with Bardsley. Starbuck was a kicker. I'm surprised he didn't put a whole right through me. Kim: *laughs slightly* Looks like Starbuck and Reed already have something in common. Reed doesn't like to stay very still. Kai: You poor thing. Kim: It's alright. It's uncomfortable, but I think I'm handling it pretty well. Kai: You're a tough woman. I'm sure you're doing a great job with it. Kim: Thanks. Kai: And you'll be great at everything that comes later. Kim: *sighs* I hope so. I just worry about doing something wrong. Kai: Oh, you will. No doubt about that. But it's something we all go through. Kim: That's not making me feel better. Kai: We make mistakes, Kim, but they're not the end of the world. Kim: I know. I just.. *sighs* I don't want to make any mistakes that'll hurt him. Kai: Awe, honey.. babies are tougher than they look. Kim: I know. I'm still gonna worry. Kai: Of course you are. I'd be worried if you didn't. Kim: *laughs* I know. Starbuck said the same thing. Kai: He's a smart boy.. sometimes. Kim: True. *laughs slightly* It's a good thing he can't hear us right now. Kai: *laughs as well* We wouldn't want him developing an ego. Kim: Definitely not. Kai: Take good care of my boy. Kim: I will. I promise. Kai: And make sure he takes good care of you as well. Kim: He always is. Kai: I'm glad. Kim: Ok, I can't do anymore sappiness right now. I might burst into tears. *small laugh* Kai: I'll let you go then. I'll give you both a call tomorrow when I arrive at the airport. Kim: I'm so excited to see you. We all are. Kai: It's going to be a great adventure. Kim: Yeah, it is. Kai: Get as much rest as you can now. Kim: Oh, I am. Trust me. That's pretty much all I'm allowed to do. Kai: Good. Okay, I need to finish up with my packing. I'll call you tomorrow, sweetie. Kim: Alright. I hope you have a safe flight. Kai: Thanks, Kim. *smooch sound* Bye. Kim: Bye.
