Shit. Shit, shit, shit. What did I mess up? Why does she know about me? Why is she trying to find out? I'm not good at this at all, I'm not a Slytherin. And I can't bloody tell anyone either!

I've just got to concentrate on the Minister and making sure his office runs as smoothly as it would were he not laid up in bed. He'll be fine. He will, ~~I have to believe that,~~ but who the hell used a muggle gun? Are the Purebloods branching out? Trying to use things to throw us off their trail? I wouldn't put it past them.

Is he alright? I was so worried. Hell, I'm still so worried. Where was security? Can't the DMLE do anything right? And I couldn't even do anything because I'm supposed to be one of them. I hate that.

Also, I am serious about getting the bitch out of my head. Can we put the memories in a pensieve and then obliviate the rest of her? Of course, I'd be happier if we could just kill her and Malfoy both. Would the DMLE try me for murder if I killed Malfoy?

He is. Gunshot wounds are usually much more serious in the Muggle world, so thank God for Healers, but they're unfamiliar with the bullets and there have been some complications. He's being kept unconscious for the time being while they figure it out, but I'm more worried about someone attacking him while he's like this. I hardly trust anyone right now. I think someone might have inflitrated the DMLE or the security for the speech - how else would anyone have gotten through? Jesus, Zach, it's ridiculous.

~~Oh, god, I don't think you want me doing it. If I messed it up recently...~~ Let's get together soon then. You got a Pensieve, or access to one? And unfortunately, I don't think you'd get away with killing Malfoy, but you might be able to wrangle the charge down to self-defence somehow. They couldn't give you prison time for that, could they?

Do you need me to sit watch at his room? Are they keeping him at Mungo's? I have other folks who can hold down the quidditch offices for a few days.

Someone infiltrated something. Can't we launch an offensive? I know we should do things through the DMLE, but we need Amos, none of us are ready to take his place.

Amos said he had one for me. I think it's at his study.

I think killing a branded Death Eater and ST ought to be cause for an order of merlin. Slippery bastards. Could we pin the assasination attempt on him or Mandy?

That would be an incredible weight off my shoulders, if you wouldn't mind. He is at Mungo's, in a secure ward. I'll see if I can get clearance for you, but just standing guard outside would be more than enough. We've pulled off all the Pureblood, ex-Slytherin Aurors, but I'm still not sure of anyone.

An offensive is difficult. Who do we come down on? The fire-call line has been inundated with useless leads and no real evidence. Pulling all the suspected rebels in the other day didn't help. We can suspect them, but attacking them isn't legal. Now, if someone were to do something outside the Ministry's jurisdiction, proof wouldn't be necessary.

I'll pick it up. When do you want to do this?

Mate, I'm with you there. And there's got to be a way, hasn't there? I'll have someone look into Malfoy's movements, see if we can piece together where he might have picked up the gun, where he was at the time of the shooting.

I'd rather stand guard inside. Don't need 'the rebellion' to suspect anything. That way in case someone tries to sneak in, we'll be alright. Can you get me the list of the Aurors and I'll let you know if I think there's anyone else you should take off the list. Probably members of the DA - Finnigan, etc.

Maybe we go outside jurisdiction. I've nothing to lose.

I'd like to wait until we know Amos is safe and recovered but I don't know if we have that kind of leeway. Maybe before the weekend?

He might have been polyjuiced.

Tell me what you'd like to do, and I'll make sure you've got the most chance to do it - reassigning Aurors, Hitwizards, make sure Justin's in charge of your wand monitoring or something, suspend your tracking charm for however long you need.

I don't know when they'll bring him around, but whenever it feels right for you, let me know. We still doing the false memory charm that it was some other girl who you dated and broke up with, or just wiping? ~~I might be better at the false memory thing.~~

I'll have someone look into apothecary sales too, then. Jesus, how long have they been planning it then? Polyjuice takes ages to brew.

Great. I'll be over once I finish some stuff up.

Before the assassination attempt, Amos gave me a wand - so I have one that's unregistered and then my normal one. if you can put that one to Justin, that will be great. And suspending the tracking charm makes sense. Or can we transfer it to someone... I'm not sure how long I can keep doing this before someone in the DMLE catches on.

Justin thinks false memory charm might work better and I'm fine with that as long as it's less painful.

Would a sample help determine where it came from?

I'll sort the wand thing out. And that's a good idea about transferring the tracking charm, I have to look into how to do that first, but until then, let me know when you need it suspending and we'll do that first. If it's only for a short time so that you can move freely, they shouldn't suspect, should they?

Memory charms aren't painful, so there's no worry there.

You've got a sample? The potion lads down in the DMLE should be able to break down the substance and work out something, but I'm not sure how much they'll be able to trace it. It's worth a try though, mate, yeah.

	Yes, a gun. I learned when I was fifteen, carried a few with me during the war. The more you know about a gun the more you can protect yourself. Maybe you should get a bulletproof vest. Wont help if they shoot you through the eyes but it will protect your organs. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
