The Ministry would like to assure the public that we are doing everything in our power to quickly apprehend the Azkaban escapees. The DMLE and MAB are working jointly on the matter, both departments making capturing the escapees their priority.

	When the Ministry captures one of the escapees, it will be reported. In the release of information, there is a delicate balance between inciting panic, which those posters did, and informing the public when it is safe to do so. You're misunderstanding what I'm saying, Granger. The public may not have known about the escape for a short period of time, but the Ministry was already swiftly working on the situation.

There were tactics involved in when the public would be told. Alerting escapees' family members or acquaintances of the escapees before the Ministry were able monitor these people, for example, and locations they may have been expected to flee to, would have been foolish. I know you're intelligent enough to comprehend that, Granger.

I don't think I am, Stebbins. The Ministry prioritised something above informing its public of a serious threat. What is to misunderstand there?

Be surprised all you want, but you're fundamentally wrong. The controlled release of information, had it not been foiled by a terrorist group hoping to seize the opportunity to further it's fear-inducing agenda, would have protected far more citizens and have lead to much quicker captures of the escapees.

The Ministry would offer their condolences for their loss, and promise to bring justice upon Greyback for his heinous crimes.

That is what the Ministry has said all along, isn't it? Safety is most important, as long as it is the Ministry's idea of safety.

Please. This was about image. Its purest speculation that keeping silent would have aided the DMLE in their efforts, and considering there were at least two days between the escape and the posters appearing with no results, how confident can you be in that method? The irony is the Ministry could have been honest from the beginning, reassured everyone and advised them on how to be safe, and the public would have eaten it up. Instead the importance of their safety, not to mention their right to protect themselves, was downgraded.

I want to know what you would have said, Stebbins, not the Ministry. Surely you can still extract yourself from your public image.
