Maybe it was sappy, but it was true. Family was something he'd thought he never have again, and then came Stiles.
Derek didn't regret anything.
Not even when his phone buzzed in his pocket and he pulled it out to see who it was. A text from Erica. Scott & Stiles tiff. He frowned at the screen. "Sorry, give me just a minute," he said.
Bad? He sent to Erica.
To Stiles he sent another one. What happened w Scott? Stiles had been so worried about telling Scott and making sure he understood - Derek could guess it had something to do with that, but the details were important.
He heard back from Erica first. No. Scott was stubborn, Stiles told him off & bounced. The frown deepened. He could ask her, but he wanted to hear about it from his mate.
"Sorry," Derek said again as he set his phone down and waited to hear back from him. "Apparently something happened between Scott and Stiles this morning. Stiles was worried that he'd have trouble accepting what's going on between us, but I don't know if that's what it was."
