"I do remember." Sometimes it was hard to remember that this was all new to Stiles with the seamless way they fit together on nearly every level, but it did need to be remembered. His mate needed a lot of reassurance and Derek was happy to provide it.
And as for Stiles' first heat -- he'd helped omegas through them before, but never his own mate. It wasn't overpowering with them, but he could see how with Stiles it might be. "I don't -- I'll have to figure something out." Something that wouldn't harm either of them, or make them miserable. "We -- I--" he flushed up to the tips of his ears. "Yes, last night." It was fast, Derek knew that, but it also felt right. "I knew that he was going to smell different to others after, but I didn't know how much it was going to change for me."
It was all for the better though, and Derek had no regrets as he continued to cook them breakfast, the bacon sizzling loudly in the skillet. "So, he should be -- he shouldn't end up pregnant this time, as long as I remember to take my pill. Got it." Remembering that was going to be a challenge, but he'd find a way. "Thank you, Deaton. For everything." For listening to a young Alpha worried about his mate. "I'll call if there's anything else."
Their goodbye's made, Derek hung up the phone and had just picked up the fruit when he heard Stiles wake up and make a call. Smiling, he started cutting it while he talked with his dad.
John was not going to ask what they hadn't done. It was one of those questions with Stiles where the answer might be more concerning than what he could actually imagine.
"Is it somewhere decent?" He asked, finger hovering over the Facetime button.
Once his son confirmed that it was, he tapped it and waited for Stiles' face to appear on his screen. "Let me see."
