Derek listened to him, giving him at least the same measure of respect that he would have given John. This relationship -- it was important to Stiles, and thus it was important to Derek too. He kept his arms loosely at this side, shoulders relaxed and easy even when Scott challenged him in that look, every bit of his air projecting ease with what they were talking about.

"We did. He's been here at least every other day for the past six months." Derek didn't bring up where Scott had been, or how Scott missed that -- because he knew where Scott was. Stiles had showed him the texts, had come over and moped about it until he had stopped moping and continued to show up. His gaze met Scott's, ignoring the inherent challenge he saw in the younger man, and went straight for honest.

"You think -- it's my dream come true, too. And yes, in every way we both hit the jackpot. Only it has nothing to do with his virginity, and everything to do with him, and who he is. And of course I want to kiss him, but I also want to see him excel. I want to watch him fall asleep in crazy positions, and do his homework, and get his degree. I want to see him go to college because that's what he wants. I want a family, and a life together with him. I want forever."

He took a breath. "And Stiles wants you in his life, too. I'm going to do my best to make sure he gets that, because his happiness means more to me than his virginity ever did." No point in denying that Stiles wasn't a virgin anymore, not when they all knew it.
