Tempest Laroque
I will meet you some place where the light lends itself to soft repose.
I will let you undress me but I warn you I have thorns like any rose.
And you could hurt me with your bare hands.
You could hurt me with the sharp end of what you say.
But I'm lost to you now.
And there's no amount of reason that could save me.
personality
LIKES: money, clothes, other people's pain and humiliation DISLIKES: water, licorice, being told what to do
Tempest's daddy has spoiled her mercilessly her entire life. So of course that fact shows through in her personality, lending her spoiled and bratty and sometimes even snarky traits that not everyone finds appealing. Despite that, however, she is fiercely independent at times, always keeping every man in her life on his toes, and as her father puts it, keeping him young trying to keep up with her. For her, there is no indifference. She is a fiercely passionate person who either loves something or hates it, the same thing goes with people. There is no in between. Once her loyalty is gained, she is extremely loyal, through and through, but once betrayed, she is just as extreme in her vindication.
Tempest is terrified of water, and with good reason, the better part of her childhood spent trying to overcome the fear enough to simply take a shower. But don't even suggest a bath. She is not that brave yet. And swimming is a no go no matter how much you beg. She is stubborn, just like her father, and shares the same sort of twisted sense of humor as he, taking pleasure in other people's pain, using her sexual prowess to lure them in before toying with them in whatever means appeals to her at that time.
Tempest is not at all pleased with having to leave Paris behind to come to New Salem. There are no fancy restaurants, no designer clothing stores, nothing of the lifestyle she has become so accustomed to. This displeasure has further soured her usual mood and has made her even more cruel and vindictive than usual.
appearance
HEIGHT: 5'5" BUILD: Slim HAIR: Dark Brown EYES: Hazel
Tempest is a rather small girl, petite and yet curvaceous, but her personality more than makes up for what she lacks in stature. She has dark brown hair that is nearly black, fair skin that looks like porcelain, and hazel eyes.
Tempest is always dressed to the nines, typically in designer clothes, and rarely wearing the same outfit twice. Her appearance means a lot to her as she has been taught that is one of her greatest assets. She tends to use her naturally good looks to her advantage in order to manipulate those around her into giving her what she wants.
history
In March of the year 1993, Christian Mathieu Laroque, came across a lovely dark-haired nun, Sister Mary Angelique. Fruit such as she was forbidden, but he wanted her. And he had her. Nine months later, on Christmas day, Tempest and her twin brother Lucius were born in the Nunnery, La maison du Saint, to an unwed nun who was plagued with guilt over her love affair with a handsome stranger. The children were born in secrecy, and the nuns made arrangements for both mother and the two children to be sent away, believing not her story of having been seduced by a demon.
Depression combined with shame led Sister Mary Angelique to an act of sheer madness. She waited until the sun set on December 31st, 1993 to carry out the task that she had determined would be her salvation. The infants were taken to the River Seine and Lucius was left upon the embankment as Tempest was held under the water. It was by sheer luck that one of the other sisters happened upon her and saved the young infant from certain death. The nuns took over the care of the children for a time while Mary Angelique attempted to recover. Unfortunately the young woman couldn't move past what she had done and committed suicide within a week of attempting to murder her children.
Mere days after the suicide of their mother, the strange, handsome man appeared at the nunnery to claim his children. It was only then that the sisters believed the story Mary Angelique had told them. The children truly were the spawn of a demon and the nuns were too afraid to even attempt to stop the man from taking the two young babies. Christian returned to his family home in Paris with both of his children, the first and only born of him who had lived to infancy.
For many years, they lounged in the lap of luxury in Paris. Tempest was spoiled, given all the leeway in the world to do anything and everything she wanted. If she wanted something, she got it, as spoiled as her father had been and then some. She was an eternal child, a bit of a problem in her youth, giving her father a hard time anytime he tried to make her take a bath or a shower, yelling and screaming and throwing monstrous tantrums when she did not get her way, until eventually she grew out of that, at least to some extent, moving on to pouting combined with the silent treatment whenever it was called for. Lucius, however, was the exact opposite, quiet and observant though just as much like his father as Tempest.
Though despite all of that, all the arguments and stubbornness between Tempest and her father, she grew to be very close to her father, very taken with him, and every chance she got she was curled up on his lap, wrapped around him, wrapped up in his arms, fiercely jealous of all the women that tried to take his time from her. She was always doing whatever she could to run off any women that happened to catch her father's eye. And those she couldn't run off, she simply disposed of.
Things were lovely for many years, but that seemed to change overnight. Her grandfather, Adrien, died under mysterious circumstances. Less than twenty-four hours later, Christian, Lucius and Tempest were packed and on the run. Her father said it was for the best but offered no explanation as he whisked them all away to the sanctuary of New Salem in Wales.
