NAME: Justin Bartholomew Finch-Fletchley NICKNAMES: AGE | BIRTHDAY | SIGN: 21/1 November, 1979/Scorpio BLOOD STATUS: Muggleborn SCHOOLING: Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry; Hufflepuff 1991-1996 (Did Not Finish) OCCUPATION: None, currently. Will be petitioning to sit his NEWTs and then hopefully getting a position in the Department of International Magical Law in the future. Possibly setting up an organization for Muggleborns/other kids who've been on the run for five years to provide alternative learning in case Hogwarts is out of the question for them. Will need help with this. RESIDENCE: Possibly living with Dennis and Rose? |
FAMILY: Thomas Fletchley; Father; Justin and his father have a strained relationship, mostly because his father expected him to follow in his political footsteps. Being a wizard and disappearing for five years doesn't help the relationship. Margeaux Finch-Fletchley; Mother; Justin loves his mum as she’s always been particularly supportive of him. He wants to one day write books like Lockhart’s (only true), so that she can read them and think what comes out of his brain is interesting, too. He can't wait to see her now that he doesn't have to hide. SEXUALITY: Pansexual, though his sexuality isn't something he really puts much thought into at all. Which is saying something because he puts though into practically everything. SIGNIFICANT OTHER: N/A; possibly changing in the nearish future CHILDREN: None. This requires intercourse, right? |
LOYALTY/ALLIANCE: Completely aligned with the Order of the Phoenix/Uprising. After the Azkaban breakout, he fought valiantly alongside the other Uprising members and his fellow DAers. He is loyal to his friends. ROLE IN THE WAR: Justin was on the run, in hiding for the majority of the war. He was captured by Snatchers and sent to Azkaban but escaped with he and the others were broken out on 1 June, 2001. He fought in the Battle of Hogsmeade. COMPLACENS?: No. Being on the run and then in Azkaban, he was not given the potion and therefore was never exposed to it or its effects. |
APPEARANCE: Justin is definitely one of those clean-cut blokes you’d take home to your mum. He keeps his clothes always clean (usually going to a laundromat with change Rose has picked up) and hates when he goes too long without showering. He wears an expression of youthful curiosity and often looks completely off in his own little mind-world. Even now, after four years on the run and time in Azkaban, he can be seen with an air of naivete. He stands relatively tall at six-foot-one and could definitely be considered lanky. He has brown hair and blue eyes and has no really distinguishing features aside from his dated clothing. He is an avid consignment shopper and never pays full price for anything. He collects bowties and suspenders, but never really has a chance to wear them. Though this will probably change soon as he will be looking for/getting a job with any luck. PLAYED-BY: Matt Smith |
WAND: 8 5/6" Kingwood Wand with a Saffron and Centaur Tail Hair core. Firm and Vibrant. KINGWOOD -It is treasured for its strength and protective properties. This wood is an excellent healing wood, closely tied with willpower. It would also be excellent for luck magic or divination. Also for curses, this is not a wood for novices or the untrustworthy. Well known for its powers in matters of the heart as well as for its medicinal qualities. This makes it the perfect wand for love charms and healing. SAFFRON - Used in healing spells, and the infusion is used as wash water for the hands prior to healing rituals. Supposedly the infusion, drunk, enables you to better open your inner eye, and simply ingesting saffron dispels melancholy. Ancient Persians utilized saffron to raise the wind. CENTAUR TAIL HAIR - While the Centaur may not trust most Wizards they are still considered very wise and logical, making this a very stable material for your core. They are also known for their skillfulness in healing making this core useful in healing charms. (Good for power, protection, general magic) BOGGART: Lord Voldemort PATRONUS: Regardless of whether or not your character can cast a patronus (and more often than not, they will not be able to), what would it be if they could? LIKES: numbers, theories based on fact, suit jackets, doing paperwork, calligraphy, discussing philosophy and history, pina coladas, earl grey tea with honey and milk, multi-colored socks, books that smell old, abaci, cuddles, children DISLIKES: people who try to say he’s wrong, sandals, umbrellas in his drinks, fighting with friends and family, dog-eared books, fish, grammatical errors, people who ask him too many questions while he’s trying to think, shorts, tan lines and fake tans, ironing STRENGTHS/WEAKNESSES: Justin is exceptionally good with charms, but less so with anything that requires the opposite of logic. He likes theories based on fact and research. QUIRKS/HABITS: tendency to ramble, talks in circles and illogical transitions when nervous or excited (or just because), tugs on ear when deep in thought, speaks bluntly to others without filter and is surprised when someone gets offended, can be absent-minded about things like birthdays and lunch dates |
DETAILED PERSONALITY: Positive Traits; charismatic, ambitious, driven, penetrating mind, intense focus, natural sense of curiosity, emotional, in touch with others’ emotions, persistence, consistency, constant open for personal growth, inquisitive, introvert with an extravert’s mouth, desire for exceptional personal success that does not necessarily mean the same as it might to others Negative Traits; easily jealous, self-absorbed, obsessive to a fault, workaholic, vindictive, holds grudges for a long time, aloof, intolerant of ignorance
Reliable Realists are down-to-earth and responsible-minded. They are precise, reserved and demanding. Their most prominent quality is reliability and they will always make every effort to keep any promise given. Reliable Realists are more quiet and serious persons, they do not talk a lot but they are good listeners. They sometimes seem reserved and distant to outsiders although they often have a great deal of wit and esprit. Their strong points are thoroughness, a marked sense of justice, doggedness bordering on pigheadedness and a pragmatic, vigorous and purposeful manner. Reliable Realists do not dither about if something has to be done. They do what is necessary without wasting words. This personality type not only expects a lot of himself but also of others. Once Reliable Realists have set their mind on something, it is difficult to persuade them otherwise. They do not like to leave anything to chance. Planning means safety to Reliable Realists, as well as order and discipline. They have no problem respecting authorities and hierarchies but do not like to delegate tasks. They are certain that others would not deal with them as conscientiously as they do. In management positions, they are very task-oriented - they make sure that things are well done; however, they do not have a great deal of interest in personal contacts at work. As a Reliable Realist you belong to the introverted personality types. You don’t appreciate too much commotion around you preferring to work relatively independently of others. You need to give yourself plenty of time to work in peace and deal with your projects thoroughly and intensely. Your ability to concentrate is exceptionally high and if you are interested in something you can truly immerse yourself forgetting everything around you. Very strongly team-oriented professional fields, or employment where your concentration is continuously disturbed, or your work is disrupted, are not really for you. It is just too important to you to complete your projects really well. One or two colleagues who are on your wavelength or possibly a small group of like-minded colleagues are the most you need. Too many people are stressful to you because the emotionality and irrationality that comes with interpersonal relationships tends to disturb you. You are reserved when revealing yourself, and often have the effect of being aloof. Sometimes, and although it may not be your intention, you even convey the impression of being dismissive to the people around you. The continuous locker room and water cooler banter enervate you more than anything else. For you, work is work, and you feel that private matters don’t really belong there. When you choose your profession, watch out that you are not made to adjust to and interact with others around the clock. Reliability is your middle name. Whoever hands you a project can rest assured that it will be handled diligently and delivered on time. The thought not to keep a promise or a commitment on time is total horror to you. Therefore, it is important to you to be in an environment providing smooth working conditions where you receive consistent and predictable feedback about your efforts. Clear and definite objectives, and the assurance that the necessary resources for your activities will be available, are a must. You can’t stand improvisation, short-term changes of plans, and last minute rush. You are a master at organized planning and proceed very purposefully with everything you do. You are driven up the wall if something unforeseen throws your careful calculations into disarray. You want everything within the purview of your responsibility to run smoothly, so that it can be dealt with one after the other. Professional environments where it is impossible to plan from one day to the next, requiring continuous flexibility, are not your thing. You can deal with a sudden adjustment, but please, not too frequently! A daily life in uncertainty, not knowing if you would be able to deliver a performance meeting your high demands, is not for you. |
HISTORY: Family History: Justin Finch-Fletchley was born to Thomas and Margeaux Finch-Fletchley and only child. His family was well-off and a rather well known name in Muggle society as his father was big on the political scene. His mother was the typical politician’s wife and, as such, spent most of her time perfecting their home and doting on her only son. Childhood was relatively normal, or as normal as he suspected as it was the only one he knew. He had many tutors in varied subjects including math, science, languages, fine arts and history. Justin was a very bright child who enjoyed reading over climbing trees and earned a spot at the prestigious Muggle school, Eton. He was slated to begin attending the academic institution when he received his acceptance letter from Hogwarts, along with a visit from Professor Minerva McGonagall explaining. His father was against the idea of a magical school considering Eton looked good for his political aspirations. Justin’s mother was skeptical, but, in the end, Justin was allowed to attend Hogwarts. It was not until Justin brought home his collection of Gilderoy Lockhart books for his mother to read that Margeaux realized how handy it could be to have a Wizard in the family. School History: First year passed rather quickly, Justin having been sorted into Hufflepuff and making fast friendships with Ernie Macmillan, Hannah Abbott and, his best friend, Susan Bones. He took to his subjects quickly, having the thirst for knowledge of a Ravenclaw. He was oblivious to the sinister goings on beneath the surface and rather enjoyed the ignorance until rumor spread through the school as to what had transpired between Harry, Ron and Hermione. He was struck with jealousy and not having had the opportunity to try and solve the puzzle. This began a dormant skepticism as to his like or dislike of Harry Potter. Justin, himself, looked up to the toothy blonde, Lockhart, and was excited to begin his second year with the man as his Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. He aspired to be as successful in the pursuit of many fields as Lockhart was and, as such, took to DADA that year. In an attempt to bury his hesitancy toward Harry, Justin chose to try and make amends and, possibly, a new friend (he really does enjoy collecting friends...they’re just so interesting!) by introducing himself in Herbology class one day. This attempt at friendship was only short-lived as rumor spread quickly that Harry was the Heir of Slytherin, out to get rid of all Muggleborns. As intrigued as Justin was about this “Chamber of Secrets,” he highly valued the breath he breathed and tried to avoid Harry at all costs. When Harry presumably set a snake on him during Dueling Club one night, Justin decided he was obviously Harry’s next target. Terrified, he accidentally found himself in a corridor with the true culprit and spent the rest of his second year petrified. Needless to say, that year went by fast for him, too. Upon being awoken, he quickly apologized to Harry for his suspicions and, in the end, became friends with the Golden Trio. Third year, as well, was very uneventful for him. He was so engrossed in his own studies that he was once again oblivious to the goings on around him until the night that Sirius Black broke into the castle. He did not feel particularly threatened by this, though, so he remained rather in his own little world that resides in his head. Fourth year he took to his grudge against Harry again, feeling like he stole Hufflepuff’s thunder. Then again, he really wished he could have been in the Triwizard Tournament because he would have loved to have put his own brain to work solving tasks. This jealousy was all quickly remedied when Cedric came back dead. He’d really liked Cedric, so the death stuck a chord in him. That was when he really took to pushing his intellectual boundaries even further so that, when the time came, he could protect himself, his friends and his family. In fifth year, he, along with Ernie, Hannah and Susan, went to the Hogshead which lead to him joining Dumbledore’s Army. He found the secret lessons to be much more fulfilling than Umbridge’s class mockeries. His sixth year continued in much the same as others. He continued learning what he could, spending time with his mates and enjoying a rather uneventful year (honestly, they really, really needed one!). But, then, Dumbledore died and Justin was struck with the weight of this death moreso than Cedric’s. He learned, then, that death did not discriminate. Young and old, good or bad, no one could escape it in the end. And so his mind became focused on achieving as much as he could so that when he met death, he’d have no life goals left unaccomplished. Post-School History: Justin was unable to finish his sixth year, however, because after Dumbledore died, the Wizarding World of Great Britain fell under control of Voldemort. Justin was taken in to the Ministry and held there while his lineage was researched. It was then that he befriended on Rose Zeller and soon, mostly with her help, escaped the Ministry with her. They were on the run from then on, using one another's skills to survive. Eventually, Rose and Justin (and Max!) ran into Colin and Dennis Creevey and took up living with them. Justin and Colin sprouted a fledgling kind-of relationship which didn't have a chance to grow when Rose and Justin were abducted by Snatchers and sent to Azkaban. In the past twenty-four hours, Justin escaped from Azkaban with everyone else and joined in on the Battle of Hogsmeade to fight alongside the Uprising. |
FIVE FUN FACTS: >>Justin had never had a pet until he had Rose around with Max. Max's bigness frightens Justin sometimes, like when Max jumps on him. But, overall, he's decided he is a huge fan of big dogs. >>Justin ONLY listens to music on record players. ONLY. His favorite kind of music is Big Band and Jazz. (He can swing dance like whoa, too.) >>Justin believes he is allergic to plum-colored shoes. He does not understand the absurdity of this. >>Justin absolutely does not know how to swim. He has an irrational fear of water. |
