BIO:
Vi learned she was a mutant at the age of 14, when she realized she was somehow ruining all of her high school's computers merely by touching them. Knowing the public's general opinion of mutants, she kept this information to herself, trying to merely avoid contact with computers and similar technology. But at 25, everything changed. The US Government began trying to make mutants register, and be segregated from 'normal' people. The insane Charles Xavier used this time to begin an all-out war on humanity, his goal being "recruit all mutants who will help us, kill any who won't".

With the use of Cerebro, Xavier found Violet easily, and was incredibly interested in her power, hoping to use it to shut down then take control of all countries' weapons systems. Horrified by the mere thought of that, she went on the run, neverable to stay anywhere more than a day or two lest Cerebro find her again.

Vi quickly ran out of money though, being on the move constantly. With no way to support herself or her travels, she began trying to use her powers to break into various banks in the middle of the night, just taking the bare minimum she needed. It was during one of these break-ins that she caught the attention of Erik Lensherr, leader of The Brotherhood of Mutants. Erik felt for her, and also realized that someone with her abilities could be incredibly useful if taught properly to use them.

Vi stuck with the Brotherhood ever since, eventually growing and learning more until she was an expert at scrambling and ruining any computer systems that were a risk to the Brotherhood being found. Her cynicism and sarcasm are very off-putting at first, but her kind heart and maternal instincts made her a boon to the team and someone that the younger kids frequently went to for advice.
