The Rocky Mountains- and the place near the Compound is called Pikes Peak. So we're in the state of Colorado, which is about in the middle of the country. The United States, in general, is across the Atlantic Ocean from Europe/the districts. I don't know if they call that ocean the same thing in your world, but basically if you went to the West Coast of Ireland and went across the ocean, you'd reach Canada, which is the country directly above the United States. So it's more or less directly across the ocean from where we're all from.
