Every genuine boy is a rebel and an anarch. If he were allowed to develop according to his own instincts, his own inclinations, society would undergo such a radical transformation as to make the adult revolutionary cower and cringe.
John Andrew Holmes
FULL NAME: Sirius Orion Black
NICKNAMES: Padfoot, Dr. Sexy. NEVER Siri, on pain of death.
BIRTH DATE & AGE: 17, October 4th 1959
SEXUALITY: Sirius doesn’t believe in sexuality. Far too limiting.
EXTRACURRICULARS: Quidditch ( Beater)
Mother: Walburga Black. Walburga is 55 years old, but if anyone ever found that out she would be required to kill them. Messily. Her occupation is to uphold the name of the Black family, and she will perform this duty until the day she dies. If you asked her she would tell you she never had a son named Sirius.
Father: Orion Black. Orion is a well respected member of the Wizengamot. Unlike his wife he would not deny Sirius’ existence, but he would remark rather icily that the inquirer should mind their own business.
Siblings: Regulus Black. Regulus is Sirius’ younger brother. While they were children they got along very well, but when Sirius went to Hogwarts the relationship began to fail. Eventually they grew apart entirely, with Sirius as the ‘rebel’ and Regulus ‘upholding the family name.’
Extended Family If you’re pureblood then you’re probably related. Siriusly, the Blacks are connected to pretty much every well-to-do family in the Wizarding World, and a few less well-to-do that they pretend don’t exist. Sirius pretty much just tries to stay out of their way. The only members of his family he ever got along with are his cousin Andromeda and his Uncle Alphard.
MARITAL STATUS: Single
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?
Childhood: Sirius didn’t begin his life as a rebel. When he was young he was the apple of his mother’s eye and the very model of a pure blood gentleman. As he got older, however, he began to question the deeply held beliefs of his family.
It began when he was five at a muggle park near Grimmauld Place. His nanny at the time had taken him there to play and was off talking to a group of muggles on the benches. Sirius began playing with a boy about his own age named Timothy. They hit it off well and, in typical child fashion, were soon best friends. They played together all afternoon and were in the middle of building the world’s largest sand fort when Walburga, who had been at meeting, happened to walk by. When she saw her son consorting with muggles she swooped in and whisked her son away. After she finished yelling at him Walburga calmly explained that muggles were filth and far inferior to wizards.
At the time Sirius agreed with his mother, but the incident set the wheels in his head turning. Timothy hadn’t seemed like a bad person, they’d had fun. It was the seed that would grow in time into full rebellion.
Hogwarts was the real turning point in Sirius’ life. By the time he reached school age Sirius had changed from a pliant, accepting child into a rebellious, angry youth. He hated the way his family was run, the strict rules of his mother and his father’s indifference. The problem was that he didn’t know what to do about it. He didn’t realize there was another way to live, a better way. Hogwarts changed that.
When he was sorted into Gryffindor it was just another form of rebellion. He didn’t expect to like his roommates any more than he had liked his cousins. He was wrong. James, Peter and Remus opened up a new world for him, a world of friendship and mischief and brotherhood. He thrived in Gryffindor, becoming one of the most popular boys in school.
Going home was a trial, as every year he grew farther and farther away from what his family wanted from him. He took his pleasure in petty little revenges and welcomed the punishment he knew he would get.
Becoming Animagus for Remus was another turning point for Sirius. Padfoot gave him a place to escape when things weighed too heavily on him. He spent a lot of his holidays locked in his room as a dog. He maintained that it kept him from going mad.
School itself was a joy, and while he’d never admit it, he loved his classes and studies. He never really had to try hard to do well and always enjoyed the angry looks from his studious class mates. Pulling pranks with the Marauders and Full Moon exploration made those seven years the best of his life.
The end of last year was not a good one for Sirius. He made what must be the biggest mistake of his life when he sent Snape down to the Willow, and he’s sure that Remus will never really forgive him. He was also disowned over the summer; a series of fights with his mother, some muggle posters permanently stuck to the walls, and a ruined society luncheon all combines into the mother of all screaming matches. Sirius was blasted off the tapestry and went to stay with James for the rest of the summer. But he doesn’t care. Not at all. He doesn’t give a shit what his mother thinks of him, or that his father sent him that horrible letter, or that Reg won’t even look at him anymore… No. Of course he doesn’t care.
Well maybe I’m a little rough around the edges, or inside a little hollow, I get faced with some things sometimes, that are so hard to swallow.
Likes: Leather, Chrome, David Bowie, Dancing, Pranks, The Marauders, Zucchini, Rain, Flying, Sex, Books (shh, don't tell anyone), Soul Train.
Dislikes:Porridge, Biggots, Slytherins (same thing as Biggots really...), Getting Up Early, Disco, Snivellus, Fighting With His Mates, People He Loves Getting Hurt, Cardiff, Tapioca.
Strengths: 1. Loyalty - Sirius is loyal to a fault. It's why he regards betrayal the highest form of insult.
2. Courage - Who really looks before they leap anyway?
3. Optimistic - Except for those occasions that we all have where we think the world is total shite, deep down, even after what he's been through, Sirius tends to see things from a very romantic point of view. He hides it well under a cynical exterior
Weaknesses: 1. Judgmental - The cover of the book is the first thing you see after all.
2. Cruel - He has a capacity for cruelty that, quite frankly scares him. Biting insults are one thing. Nearly sending a fellow student to his death....
3. Secretive - Instead of addressing his problems, he let's them fester.
Sirius spends a good deal of time cultivating an air of ignorant bliss. He’s the life of any party and, if taken purely at face value, the most black and white person in England. When he's happy he's happy, if you insult him he'll hit you, and he's never, ever, sad or frightened. Ever. Behind the mask he’s actually quite sensitive and a bit of a romantic. He also has a very low self esteem, something he goes to great lengths to cover up.
Though he can sometimes be an arrogant prat, he usually means well. He's fiercely loyal to his friends and is the first to come to their defense, even if he knows they're wrong. He tries his best to be a good person, even if he occasionally buggers it all up. All he really wants is to prove that not all Blacks are the same.
The only people he’s ever really let in are the Marauders. With them he can occasionally let go and admit to his fears. Not often, but enough that he doesn’t explode. He tells them that his family’s allegiance doesn’t bother him, but they know him well enough not to believe him.
You’ve got your mother in a whirl, she’s not sure if you’re a boy or you’re a girl.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Never leaving school. Spending the rest of my life with my friends, pulling pranks and making jokes and never, ever having to think about what’s going on out in the world. Never realizing that the world might just be trying to get inside…
What is your greatest fear?
Turning out exactly like the rest of my family. Sometimes I think things, or do things, and I know that I’m no different. No, I’m worse than they are, because I pretend to be one of the good guys.
What is the trait you most deplore in others?
Blind Acceptance. Anyone who uses blood or fate as an excuse is the worst kind of human being. Birth and circumstance don’t determine what kind of human being you are, you have to do that for yourself.
Do you have any interesting habits? If so, please list them.
I have to wash my hands four times after using the loo. It’s one of the few things I can’t get rid of from my childhood, but when I don’t do it I feel dirty all day.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I would be more thoughtful. It’s always when I don’t think that the really bad stuff happens.
What is your greatest achievement?
Becoming Animagus for Remus. No contest.
What is your greatest regret?
Sending Snape to the Willow. Defiantly the stupidest thing I’ve ever done.
What is your motto?
Live life now. You never know if there’s going to be a tomorrow.
out of character.

Lads, We’ve got to get out of the dorm tonight. I don’t care what any of you say, we’re going to pull a prank tonight if it kills us. Do you realize how long it’s been since we did anything? Do you realize how many Slytherins are sleeping soundly, thinking the Marauders are too busy being mature to do anything to them? Do you realize how long it’s been since we did anything horrible to Snape? Days mates, DAYS! That is just not right.
I say this shall end! Death to Homework! Death to duty! Death to BOOKS! Yes Remus, I did just write that. AND YOU ARE GOING TO LIVE WITH IT!
Come on!!! I’m so bored!
Also, is it just me, or has Smithe been acting very odd lately? I can’t put my finger on it, but something is off about the bloke. Maybe he’s finally got himself a bird!
