Alex hadn't been out and about as much as usual because things at Freak Nation were coming to the end. Or the beginning, depending on how you looked at it.

All the construction was done, he was interviewing potential employees -- that was a definitely a new experience -- as well as trying to figure out how he was going to manage being two places at once. He knew he couldn't quit working as a messenger until-if-when Freak Nation took off. Basically, it was down to all the nitty-gritty little details that he never knew existed. It was challenging, stimulating, exhausting.

He loved it.
