Closed - Plot: Barcode powers
Alex hadn't noticed at first. In fact, he hadn't noticed anything until someone at the messenger service had jokingly tried to scan his neck. He smiled politely, laughed -- ha ha funny, great joke -- and made a quick exit to the bathroom where he proceded to quietly freak out.

331845739494.

He punched a mirror. It broke.

"Dammit, dammit, dammit."

He took a deep breath.

"OK, relax. It's a seven. It'll go away. It'll ... " He glanced at the door when someone called for him and hurried over to the window. He slid through the opening and into the alley and was about to head out to the street when he suddenly stopped.

He smiled, flexed his knees and studied the roof.

"Well, if I don't, I'll only make myself look like a fool."

He jumped and laughed when he landed easily three stories up.

Maybe today wouldn't be all bad after all.
