Personality:
Colin is very much the same over-excited boy Harry met during his second year. He just has a zest for life that carries him through everything that he does. It's nearly impossible to get him down because he's alwaysgoing to see the bright side of things - and he's always going to do what he thinks is right and what will help those that he cares about. Colin love his family fiercely and will do anything to make sure they are safe and taken care of to the best of his ability. Even the incident with the basilisk didn't get him down for long - sure he's not exactly what you could call a fan of snakes but he doesn't go around bemoaning what happened to him. It's just another amazing thing to file away and tell his children one day.

Special Abilities: Colin is pretty average as far as his abilities go. Of course he's got super human enthusiasm and he's pretty sure he's going to be the worlds next great photographer (or he did before he died).
Strengths: He’s definitely a people person, he is very good at meeting new people (even if they think he's a bit strange or overexcited), and he's always been able to see the good in even the worst situations. Sure this whole war thing is pretty bad and he can't go to Hogwarts for his 6th year, but you know he trusts Harry implicitly and he knows he'll set things right and he and his brother will be able to go back to Hogwarts and some point.
Weaknesses: You could say he’s too trusting at times, he always wants to see the good in people, despite the times and their many examples to the contrary, and have we mentioned that he can be a bit overexcited from time to time?

Physical Description:
Colin is like those little tiny dogs who think they are giants. He's smaller than most of his friends, but it's never anything he's thought about. He carries himself like he's 10 feet tall. He always looks like he's a little harried, but mostly it's just he's excited - whether that's about his next class or seeing his friends or even dinner it's hard to tell.

History

Colin is pretty sure the greatest day of his life was the day he got his letter to Hogwarts. It explained so many of the strange things that were happening to him, and he knew from the moment that he read the letter being a wizard was going to be the most brilliant thing in the entire world.

The eldest son of a milkman and a school teacher, Colin lead a pretty normal life up until that letter came. And after that he just knew everything was going to change.

Hogwarts was of course the most fantastic place he'd ever been. He took pictures constantly to send back home to his family, writing them as often as the mood struck him telling them all about his classes his new "friends" the fabulous Harry Potter and anything else he could think of. Things only got better when his younger brother also got his letter to Hogwarts and joined him there.

The summer after his 5th year things started to get a little scary, and Colin and Dennis were lucky that they heard about the take over of the Ministry and Hogwarts as well. They didn't show up for their 6th year after hearing about the persecution of Muggleborn witches and wizards. Instead they and their family went into hiding all the while trusting that things would get better at some point.

It was early one morning when the coin he'd gotten when he joined Dumbledore's Army began to heat up the way it did when they were announcing they had a meeting in the past - it hadn't done that in ages. It was then that Colin realized they likely needed his help they wouldn't be activating the coins again if they didn't need help. He decided to go, and made Dennis promise that he would stay home with their parents and keep them safe until Colin was back to give them the good news.

If he'd been able to go to school that year he would have learned how to apparate, but seeing as he couldn't Colin relied on the floo to get himself to Hogsmeade and then met up with other former members of the DA going to Hogwarts through the portrait in the Hog's Head.

And despite being caught by Professor McGonagall and told to leave with the others fleeing the school, Colin knew he had to stay and fight. This was what he'd been waiting for all year, what he'd been hoping for the whole time he and his family had been in hiding. And so he hid to stay and join in the fighting, he new he could help somewhere.

Colin was killed on the lawn of Hogwarts that same day fighting against several death eaters.
