In depth |
Personality: The first thing that comes to mind when describing Ron Weasley is his temper. Like every stereotype of red-heads, Ron is quick to anger, quick to cast judgment, and quick to place blame. Ron doesn’t apologize for his first reaction, unless it hurt someone else. Ron often feels justified in making snap judgments and first reactions. When Ron is out of line, however, he will be the first to apologize (when he’s cooled down and realized what he’s done). While Ron does have some spectacular flaws, his strengths greatly outweigh his deficits. One of his greatest strengths is love. He loves his family more today than he did yesterday, and not as much as tomorrow. It tears him up that he can’t see his children every day like he could when they were younger. It makes sense to him now why his parents had so many children. He definitely has empty nest syndrome, especially since most of the time it’s only him and Crookshanks Jr. at the house. Ron is very active in his job. Even though he’s not out on the field, Ron sees his job as Auror Trainer very important. While most of it is a lot of paperwork, the fun parts are teaching new spells to the trainees, practicing dueling, setting up obstacle courses full of traps and danger, and helping the young Auror trainees become competent. He wasn’t a natural at teaching, but he took to it after a few sessions. Ron is able to come up with plans quickly, and enjoys planning different techniques. He would have been a good Quidditch coach if opportunities had led his life in that direction. Special Abilities: Ron is rather unimpressive in most respects. He's not the smartest person in the world, or the best at any particular spells. His mos timpressive skill is that he's friend's with Harry Potter. Strengths: Tactical, strategic and logistical thinking, creative thinker, quick thinker, levelheaded under pressure, pragmatic, well-grounded, smart (not as smart as Hermione, but can hold his own in most conversations), really good at Wizard’s Chess, Quidditch, Defense, and Imitating voices and sounds Weaknesses: hot-headed, emotional, pessimistic, lazy, susceptible to performance anxiety, fear of spiders, believes Hermione doesn’t care for him much anymore because she works so much. |
Appearance |
Gender: Male Nationality: English Height: 6'1 Weight: 175 lbs Build: He's one of the tall ones in his family, though he's more long and lanky than big through the shoulders the way Charlie is Eyes: Blue Hair: Weasley Red Distinguishing Marks: He's got scars down his arm thanks to their trip to the Department of Mystery when they were students, as well as a few other sundry scars. Physical Description: Ron is very much a Weasley, from the top of his head, down to his freckles. He's grown into himself over the years, and while still a bit lanky, he's not at that awkward stage anymore, at least not physically. He's certain to make a fool of himself other ways. Thanks to an injury he walks with a bit of a limp these days, and it's what has him working something closer to a desk job, rather than continuing with the field world that he'd much prefer. Played by: Michael C. Hall |

History |
After the war was over, and celebrations were had, and Ron, Hermione, and Harry were able to get back to a more normal life, Ron decided to jump right into working with George. Getting WWW back into shape consumed a good portion of his time. He didn’t want to think about everyone he had lost during the war, and the best way to do that was to work, and work hard. Coming up with, and developing and implementing a business strategy gave Ron just enough work to cope with the gigantic hole Fred’s death had left in his life. Not long after that, Ron was invited to train with the Aurors in the Ministry, sans N.E.W.T. Scores. It was a dream come true, and he jumped at the chance to be active and capture the remaining Death Eaters scattered about the country. Doing both work at the shop, and learning all he could to become an Auror was tough, but Ron was able to dedicate time and work to both, despite his earlier laziness when it came to school and schoolwork. Studying and learning everything with Harry helped him concentrate more on what was important. It was around a year before George was back and could take over a lot of Ron’s work at the shop. It was a good thing because his training had become much more active, and Ron was bordering on having an exhaustive breakdown. Throughout this time, Ron had worked up the courage to ask Hermione out on dates. While she was still in school, Hermione and Ron exchanged numerous owls. Ron kept each letter to him in a shoebox under his bed (which became a shoebox in the attic when they wed and moved in together). Ron knew that Hermione was the one he was destined to marry, and while his emotional range of a teaspoon only grew to the emotional range of a tablespoon, he tried to do the best he could for Hermione and the rest of their life. Ron proposed not six months after they began dating, and after a long engagement they finally wed. He was a little upset that Hermione didn’t take his last name, but after a single ‘conversation’ that lasted a few days, Ron conceded and Hermione kept her last name. To Ron, it wasn’t a sense of ownership that he wanted Hermione to take his name, but the sense of being a team, of being a family, that he wanted to create with her, rather than just being best friends who were married. In 2004, Ron was named godfather of Harry and Ginny’s first son, James Sirius. He learned all he could about child care from his mum and Ginny, and offered quite often to take Jamie off their hands to take him to the park and play. Because Ron was still quite childish himself, he enjoyed playing with Jamie and the other children in his family. He couldn’t wait for a child of his own. In 2006, Rose was born. Ron was ecstatic. He was so excited to be a father, and even managed to get paternity leave from the Aurors for six weeks while Hermione was recovering from childbirth. He was the type of father that would get up in the middle of the night to care for Rose, and knew many of the child care spells from caring for Jamie. Three years later, Hugo was born, and Ron was just as ecstatic. During the children’s early years, Ron became more vital in the Auror department. He prided himself on each successful capture of rogue criminals, and was one of the first to jump up for an assignment. Until 2020, when Hugo turned 11, this was the life Ron lead. He loved the adventure and the challenge. And all was usually well as he apprehended the fugitive. Occasionally his robes would be singed or he’d come home with a bald spot where some hair was blown off, but he came home relatively unscathed. On April 21, 2020, Ron was doing his usually apprehension and arrest when the criminal took out a concealed wand and sent a blasting hex at Ron’s kneecap. The hex tore Ron’s knee apart, and shattered the bone quite badly. The Healers at St. Mungo’s did their best to restore Ron to his pre-hex state, but they were unable to fix it completely. Ron still walks with a slight limp because of this accident. After a mandatory six months of rest and recuperation (during which Ron began a small affair with the bottle, and realized how little time he and his wife actually spent together as a couple), Ron was ready to get back to work, but the Head of Aurors did not want to put him back on the field. Ron was devastated, but he was given the assignment to work with the trainees. At first, he completely resented his assignment, but after a stern talking-to, Ron began to look at training in a new light. For the last five years, Ron has been in this position and has enjoyed himself immensely at work. His home-life is a little lacking, and he misses his wife, and really feels as if she doesn’t care about him anymore. However, he still will defend her honor at work (he’s gotten a few reprimands for threatening to ‘take it outside’ with those who say something negative in front of him about her), and attempts to celebrate their anniversary and all holidays to make her love him more. He’s at his wits end at trying different things to get her to love him again, as she did before, but he’s not giving up yet. |
