ALICE OF LEGEND | |
Character Name: Alice Hamilton Age: 25 Fandom: SyFy's Alice Canon point: End of miniseries Species: Human Gender: Female Sexuality: Heterosexual Inventory: Hatter's purple velvet coat, the Stone of Wonderland Wiki Link: | |
Appearance: Alice is pretty average - average height, average weight, brown hair, blue eyes. She's muscular but not overly noticeable and has just enough womanly figure that her gender is obvious. All in all, Alice wouldn't stand out in a crowd. Personality: Alice is a study in opposites. For the most part, she is strong willed and determined, always ready to fight for her cause and against injustice. She has a black and white view of right and wrong, willing to go to the ends of the earth to bring down the bad guy. "When in Rome" is one of her philosophies so she's not afraid to try anything new. However, she approaches her curiosity with caution, having been burned too many times before. Alice is ingenuitive and mechanical minded, able to figure out simple machines and locks with little problem. She picks up skills fairly easily and has been working on learning to pick locks. She is practical, realistic and blunt. Alice has no problem calling people out on their shit although she doesn't really do it rudely. On the other end, despite her need to save and do good, Alice has severe trust issues that were not resolved by her father's death. Yes, she gained closure but almost twenty years of damage can't be repaired in half conversations and a sacrifice of life. As much as she forgave her father, he left behind... Issues. She's terrified of being abandoned, even by David Hatter. Charlie might be the only one she'd trust to never leave her. Even still, she tries to see the best in others, hoping that there's a little spark in them that makes them good. Because of that, she will face certain death to save her friends. She has been called headstrong. She often thinks that if she didn't have bad luck, she'd have absolutely no luck at all but she takes the thought with a hint of amusement rather than anger. Things are what they are. You can go with it and try to change it, or suffer. She can be a little bit paranoid and suffers heartbreak very easily. When it comes to men, she can be oversensitive. They can wreck her self-esteem with a word. She has a quick temper but tries not to get violent - instead lecturing or ranting. Occasionally it's a full blown motivational speech depending on the situation. History for those who haven't seen the series: Alice's childhood was relatively normal. They lived in a little yellow house that she remembers very distinctly. Her parents were loving though her father seemed often very busy. However, he still made time for Sunday brunch with Alice where they'd go feed the ducks after. She was totally and utterly a daddy's girl, there was no doubt about that to the point that he called her Jellybean. When she was very small, her cat Dinah was killed and she collapsed on the lawn, crying her eyes out, her father held her for over an hour just letting her cry. When she was ten years old, White Rabbit stole her father away to work in the Queen's casino. She was left totally alone in the house, in the dark, while her mother went to look for him. Alice searched the house but found herself too scared to go further than the study which terrified her in the shadows. As she grew up, she never ended the search for her father, hiring private detectives and going on different websites as they cropped up. What relationships she formed failed every time and she found herself unable to find the strength to leave home. She still lived with her mother in an apartment. And then came Jack. Jack was handsome, kind and everything any girl could hope for. They met while Alice was teaching judo classes. She fell in love though it was a bit of a lengthy process. When she brought Jack home to meet her mother, her whole life changed. He offered her a ring, a very old family ring, and refused to tell her what it meant so Alice told him they needed to cool off. Shortly after she discovered he'd left the ring behind in her pocket. Going to return it, she witnessed him being taken away. She chased after a man who disappeared through a mirror and Alice... fell in after. She soon found herself captured in a container headed for God only knew where. With a hair pin and some quick thinking, she escaped to fall in a lake. She swam to shore and convinced a rat catcher to help her - but only once he heard her name. Rattie took her to the Tea Shop where her story was told to Hatter. He was a little less convinced by her story but seeing an opportunity, he took her to see Dodo though he did take a moment to explain the world. The teas were human emotions. Humans were called oysters and were harvested for their strong feelings by the Queen of Hearts. Hatter made a mistake when speaking to Dodo, forcing Alice to show the ring Jack had given her which turned out to be the Stone of Wonderland - the ancient artifact that activated the mirror for travel. It was far more important than Alice's or Hatter's life which he showed by trying to kill them. Alice and Hatter escaped only to be chased to the ancient woods by a psychopathic assassin known as Mad March who had a robotic cookie jar for a head. It's Wonderland, what do you want? They disappeared into the woods and Hatter hatched a very bad plan in which he was going to lure the jabberwocky to the assassins chasing them. Instead Jabberwocky chased him and Alice into a spike pit trap before eventually giving up and leaving them there. They were discovered shortly after by 'the last remaining white knight' Sir Charles Eustace Fotheringhay Le Malvois III - Charlie for short. He took them to the ancient kingdom for safety in the woods, detailing the ancient battle that took place and allowed the Queen of Hearts to begin her horrible rule over Wonderland. Alice allowed herself to be captured by Mad March while the rest slept in an effort to find Jack. Being taken to the Hearts' casino, she learned that Jack was actually the Queen's son. Also, he was engaged. Jack gave her something even more important though - he slipped her the watch that once belonged to her missing father. It was stopped on the exact date and time he had disappeared. She was given to the Tweedles who psychologically tortured her in an effort to get the location of the ring out of her. She lied. It didn't matter either way as Charlie and Hatter came to the rescue. The escape was quite action packed ending with them flying off the roof on motorcycle-jet flamingo bird. Things. They're complicated. They ended up back in the woods, in the ancient kingdom. Alice and Hatter's relationship gets a little more complicated somewhere passing friendship into... Something else. Alice wasn't ready to trust Hatter though even after he contacted the Resistance to get her taken to the leader. It didn't help that Jack Heart was her escort to Caterpillar. They revealed that Alice was a key player in getting the Queen removed from the throne although initially she had been meant to hold the ring in secret. Jack hadn't counted on her following him. But now they were going to take out the Carpenter, Alice's father, by reawakening his memories. It started to work but as the recognition began, Mad March captured the lot of them except for Caterpillar who escaped. Hatter attempted another rescue at that time but was captured as well after Charlie abandoned him. Alice was taken before the Queen once again and her punishment was decided... The Queen wanted to behead her but between Jack and the King, they convinced her that banishment was a far worse punishment. Alice was taken back to the mirror just as a fresh shipment of oysters was being brought in after the recovery of the ring. Alice had been resigned to leave Wonderland behind... But the sight of the injustice and, specifically, the children being brought through now - a new, bolder move by the Queen - she found she couldn't abandon them. Alice escaped her captors and flew on a flamingo bike back to the casino to stage a revolt properly. She managed to work her way into the casino floor and barricade herself in. It was time to wake up the oysters - but not without help. Hatter too escaped his captivity and once again came to her aid. The casino was being flooded with negative emotions. The systems were failing. Outside, Charlie had convinced the guards that the knights had risen from the dead and were staging a coup. The Carpenter's memories had fully awoken and he was running to his daughter's aid after having to fight off Walrus. In the end, Carpenter sacrificed his life to save his daughter from a bullet fired by Walrus. It left her with no closure whatsoever. As the casino collapsed around them, the oysters were free and the Queen was broken. They were no longer under her thumb and the Resistance had won. Jack was to be king and the Queen had given Alice the ring back. She had yet to return it to Jack before she found herself in Neptune, no chance to say goodbye or even see the mirror again. The Stone of Wonderland is still nestled in the pocket of her purple velvet coat... Powers & Abilities:: Alice is skilled in judo and has been learning to lock pick. She's pretty good at lying and keeping her calm under pressure. She's skilled at horseback riding and apparently leading revolutions so she's quite the motivator. Otherwise, she's totally human.
