A Princess gets kidnapped and the kingdom returns to business as usual.

King Sirius
I'm sorry to disturb you while you're putting so much time and effort into searching for Vic but I have a favour to ask. I know Pippa could use a distraction and I think it might help her cope with this horrific situation if I could bring her pets to her. I'd also like to spend a bit of time with her. If it's not possible, I understand. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Neville
Sorry about the other night. Thanks for bidding so much in my name, you're really brilliant. I suppose we both owe each other a date, yeah? Hope you didn't mind I bid against your boss's wife.

Lady Weasley, I assure you, things have NOT returned to business as usual. So don't fucking act like Many people are tirelessly working around the clock to find the princess.

Mr Lupin, with all due respect, I was not referring to the King or His Royal Council.

Fuck, of course you weren't-- I shouldn't have said

Forgive me, lady. I haven't really slept.

I understand completely, Mr Lupin. As you said, you've been tirelessly working. There's no need to apologise.

I still shouldn't have assumed.

[Lady Weasley]
And for the record, Lord Rosier is a prick.

We all make mistakes, Mr Lupin. I clearly should have used more a more explicit statement instead of a generalised remark.

Remus Lupin
He's clearly not busy enough with his exceedingly important job if he's shooting his mouth off over trivial shite. Oh, and no need to refer to me as Lady, Mr Lupin. You can call me Ginny, if you like.

Then call me Remus.

As far as Lord Rosier is concerned, well... I don't think there's anything more I could say about him than I already have.

I will, Remus. And I do appreciate how hard you're all working, you know. If there's anything I can do, name it and I'd gladly see it done.

I'm sure you could think up some more colourful insults. The English language is quite amazing and has a multitude of words to suit such a patronizing, vile, skirt-chasing knob-end like him.

Thank you. Look out for Pippa, when you can

And I'll get more colorful once I've had some sleep. But that won't happen til we get Vic back.

But you were referring to the King's people who have jobs, lives and families of their own to take care of?

A bit of mindfulness when faced with such disgusting acts should be expected from the King's people regardless of their employ or familial ties, Lord Rosier.

What would you have me do? Sit at home, ignoring my responsibilities until the Princess is found?

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]batbogey_
2016-04-19 12:35 am UTC (link)
Obviously, my Lord. That's how people are found when they're missing, when sad sacks skive off their responsibilities and hole away as if the world at large is out to get them. Or you could try practicing a bit of empathy and consider that making off-handed comments about your exciting weekend might be a bit unseemly.

You may want to try recalling all of the time you've spent at court, Lord Rosier. It might appear terribly impolite when you don't use a person's appropriate title when referring to them.

When you act like a Lady, perhaps I will address you as such

My apologies, my Lady.

With all due respect, my Lady, I made no such comments about my so-called exciting weekend. I merely mentioned that it was interesting. Perhaps you would do well to fact check before making such accusations. Nothing of what I said was off-handed and if you felt that way, then you are making assumptions at which time you should try thinking before speaking on such thoughts. Take heed to your own advice, my Lady and practice some empathy yourself. My staying home will do nothing to find the Princess, but if I am out and about on my normal business, I might run into something that could help to find your friend faster.

Apology accepted, Lord Rosier.

I never mentioned sitting home to wallow, my Lord. Perhaps business as usual was an allusion to how lightly the citizens of our kingdom have been viewing the attacks on members of our community instead of a personal attack on your integrity, my Lord. I simply brought up your comment because I did feel it was in poor taste; however, you will note I did not choose to bring that fact up with you because I did not feel it was my place to, my Lord. Should you run into such a person in your very important line of work, I would hope you might contact the King and His Royal Council post-haste, my Lord.

Thank you for your illuminating advice as well. I shall take it to heart.

You seem upset, Lady Weasley, perhaps from a lack of sleep. Make yourself a glass of warm milk and get some rest. You will be no good in finding the Princess in such a condition.

As an employee of the DMLE, should I hear or see anything in regards to the disappearance of the Princess, I will contact the King immediately, Lady Weasley.

You take your important work to the pitch while I take mine to the Ministry, my Lady.

Fred, George and I have been poking around. Been asking around Ev's club and the other muggle places around, but so far not getting anywhere.

Few folks recognized a picture of her, but no one seems to know what happened.

They did. Even better than the Twins and I did with those pranks.

We're careful, don't worry. Luckily we aren't taken very seriously so no one really minds us.

You ought to take notes for next year, yeah?

I know you and the twins could lie your way out of anything, I've seen it at work. Laughter usually disarms people's fear, after all. At least you're actually doing something which is more than the rest of the country can say.

Apparently.

Don't think our jokes are going to do much good at the moment. Just wanted to...do something. Max is all locked up with the rest of them, so I just [...] wanted to help him. Even if I can't, you know?

Of course. Keeping busy's important, especially if it feels like you're contributing somehow. Waiting makes it worse, gives you too much time to think.

You can come play with Colby, if you like. He's a very sweet dog and a brilliant distraction.

As all right as I can be. I'm worried. I'm angry. I'm frustrated. I'm so fucking sad. Just trying to keep my mind busy. Rosier helped with that for a bit.

He might! Can you put something on to blunt his horns? I wouldn't want Colby to gnaw at them or get his eye poked out.

Git. Let me know if you need a distraction. If there is one talent that is actually useful right about now, it's distraction. Gotta keep my adopted sister happy!

Yeah, I've devised a corking system to keep him from gouging people, although they aren't really sharp. I'll bring him down to play.

What are you thinking?
