PERSONALITY

Rose Tyler is a very stubborn woman, determined to get what she wants and never gives up on anyone she thinks needs help. She never backs down, and is certainly not one to admit defeat. Rose is a very caring girl, almost wearing her heart on her sleeve. Occasionally, this can be her weakness, for instance a Dalek managed to escape because it used her compassion against her. She was not most intelligent girl, or so she thought if you asked her, but is bright enough and is firm in her ideas of right and wrong. Her intelligence has changed as she began to run Torchwood in the alternate universe, which meant she had to learn about the work they do and she had to do it fast. She had to learn about science and technology quicker than ever before and, well, she's a little surprised herself at her ability.

She can use the views most people have of her being another ‘dumb blonde’ to her advantage, and can often surprise many people with her knowledge, even the Doctor. Though she tries to act like not much hurts her, she is the first to admit that she has a bit of a jealous streak. Especially when it comes to the Doctor. The day she found out she wasn't the first he traveled with was really rather heartbreaking for her but as she grew in confidence she discovered how to put that jealously to the side. Well, most of the time.

Her mother and her friends mean the world to her. She is fiercely loyal and stands by those she loves and cares for no matter what is happening or what they do. If anyone threatens her mother, she drops everything to be by her side but Rose’s loyalty stands more towards one man. The Doctor, her best friend and the man she fell in love with. No matter where he goes, or the things he does that end up hurting her, she has never been disloyal to him. A pain, maybe, but never disloyal. She risked her life for this man, because she loved him, another trait she holds. She was willing to leave her family behind in the alternate universe to be with him. She sees no problem at putting herself at risk for those she cares for. This is also obvious when she continued to hold on to the Time Vortex despite the fact that it was killing her just because she wants to save the Doctor and Jack. Those two men are the most important men in the world to her, and she protects them no matter what.

HISTORY

Rose Marion Tyler was born to Jackie and Peter Tyler on the 27th of April 1986. At only a year old her father died after being hit by a car, something she would later go back and witness during her travels with the Doctor. She grew up with Jackie as a most incredible mother and attended Jericho Street Junior School and Jericho Street Comprehensive. She was not bad as a student and did achieve 8 GCSE’s and had intended on going on to do her A levels but something got in the way of that.

Jimmy Stone was a bad boy and instantly caught the eye of 16 year old Rose. She dropped out of school and left home to live with him, convinced he was the man she should be with. Unfortunately, he then broke her heart and left her, leaving her in a lot of debt. But she fought back and soon fell for Mickey Smith who seemed a little calm when compared to Jimmy. At the time, he seemed the perfect man for her.

Then on a late night at work she met the man, well alien, of her dreams. The Doctor brought things into her life that she never thought she could ever get and showed her things beyond her imagination. From the day the Earth died to Victorian Cardiff where Charles Dickens was plagued by ghosts, or so they thought. A visit to World War Two brought another man into her life who was quick to become her best friend, next to the Doctor of course. Captain Jack Harkness had the charms, the looks and the smile that could melt any woman, or man’s, heart and it certainly worked on Rose.

Soon after this meeting the reason Bad Wolf had been following Rose and the Doctor became clear. They arrived during a Dalek invasion and the Doctor decided it was best to send Rose home so at least she would be safe. But Rose was not going to let that happen. She spent hours trying to find a way back and soon came across an idea that could have cost her her life. She looked into the heart of the TARDIS and took it all in, becoming Bad Wolf. Whilst consumed by this she erased the Daleks, breaking apart every atom of them, and brought a dead Jack back to life. But it was killing her, burning her up from within and the Doctor found himself sacrificing himself for her. After a kiss, in which he took all of the vortex from within her, he began to regenerate and had little time to tell Rose just what was going. Changing into another man before her it took her until he saved the Earth from the Sycorax for Rose to accept this man was indeed her beloved Doctor. They picked up where they left off and went to so many places once more. During this time she met Sarah Jane Smith who made it clear to Rose that one day she would be left by the Doctor, though he promised her he would never abandon her. Soon after this they came across the Parallel Universe for the first time where Mickey decided to stay so he could help the fight against the Cybermen. Rose was upset by this but had no choice but to accept it and continued her travels with the Doctor.

After a few more visits, including to a space base that nearly fell into a black hole and the 2012 Olympics, they were pulled into another situation that would seem the Doctor and Rose pulled apart. Both Cybermen and Daleks were bleeding through the void between dimensions and the only option they had was to have them sucked back in. The Doctor tried to send Rose away but she, once again, refused and went on to help him send them back into the void only for her to get sucked towards it. Luckily, just in time, the version of her father from the parallel universe they had went to before teleported in to grasp her then took her away. Only now she was stuck in the parallel universe.

A few months later, the Doctor managed to find a way to say goodbye to her. She finally had the chance to say I love you but before he could say anything in return the projection ended and she was left crying on a beach, Bad Wolf Bay to be precise, without her Doctor. She refused to settle in that world though and worked to get back to her proper world and the Doctor. A Dimension canon was put together and during her time travelling to find him she arrived in many universes. In one, she met Donna Noble and fought to right that universe and get Donna back to the Doctor, giving her a message to tell the Doctor.

Bad Wolf.

She soon arrived in her own universe and found Donna’s mother and grandfather in the hope that someone would know where the Doctor and Donna were. Whilst she was there, what Rose could only assume was Harriet Jones attempting to contact her, tuned her into a conversation between Harriet, Martha Jones, the Torchwood team, Sarah Jane Smith and the Doctor with Donna. Because of the lack of a webcam, she was unable to get in touch with them and let them know she was there. Once the Doctor was brought back to Earth, she locked the transmat onto the TARDIS and arrived on an empty street. Well, almost empty apart from the Doctor and Donna. As she ran to him however he was shot at by a Dalek and was mortally wounded. Luckily, he managed to keep his current for and instead transferred the remaining energy to the hand he lost on Christmas day.

After fighting the Daleks once again, and with the arrival of the Meta Crisis Doctor who was brought into existence through the cut off hand after Donna’s touch, they brought the Earth back home and all the companions were brought home. But given the Meta Crisis Doctor was born out of battle and had killed every Dalek that threatened them, the Doctor kept him on Pete’s World. However, despite Rose’s original hope to stay with him, he told her to stay because this new Doctor needed someone to look after him. She argued and refused to stay until the Meta Crisis Doctor explained he had the thoughts, memories and feelings of the Doctor but only had one heart and one life. After he was the only one to admit to his feelings for her, she kissed him and was only brought from the kiss by the sound of the TARDIS leaving. She watched it go with her hand linked with the Doctor and a new adventure ahead of her.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

Rose is able to use firearms to effect, even more so after her time in the alternate Torchwood which she helped set back up. She was a skilled gymnast and has picked up her fitness again through adventures with the Doctor. Rose is a caring person and is usually very able to pick up on what’s going on around her, being able to read and play situations well. Due to her time in Torchwood, she has become a lot more intelligent than she was as a teenager and is now savvy enough to run an institution that requires a lot of technological and scientific knowledge.

Rose had felt rather excited at first but, in all honesty, she was used to strange things happening. So much so that they weren't strange any more. But that wasn't the point. The point was that it was snowing and she couldn’t help but feel that childlike bubble of excitement well up within her as she watched it fall. Oddly enough, it made her feel a little happier than when the sun shined, despite her complaints about London not being warm enough most of the time. Perhaps because of those early memories of running around the estate. Or the feel of being close to the Doctor after she accepted the opportunity to travel with him again. Of course, there was also fact that the Doctor was always incredibly excited about Christmas and snow and everything that went with it was enough to make her feel happy. Enough to have that feeling of being content settle within her.

Though she was eyeing up the tree. Just in case.

She sat by the window, feet up and a blanket wrapped around her as she watched the snow fall. The fire was burning nearby, a cup of hot tea in her hand and Christmas songs playing quietly in the background. Rose really could quite happily sit here for the rest of the night, without question.

And then she saw movement. Was that the Doctor?

She frowned briefly but it soon changed into her bright grin as she pushed herself up. It didn’t matter if she wasn’t dressed for going outside, she didn’t exactly have to go past the door, her instinct had easily took charge. Dropping the blanket as she walked, she was at the door before he came to it.

"You'll freeze!" But there was laughter in her eyes. He looked so excited and despite not being dressed for it herself right now she really couldn't care less about the cold. Not if it meant seeing that look.
