The Ministry has been hectic all day. I hope order will be restored soon.

[Private to Hufflepuffs of '98]

The man was horrible, but surely he didn't deserve that? Nobody does. Sirius' supporters must have known it was coming, and they just let it happen. Shady as fuck. They all are.

[Private to House Bones]

Where do we - as a House - stand on the events of last night?

All I know is that I don't stand for public executions. I can't get that image out of my head.

I thought I was going to be sick. I think some people actually were.

You're joking, right? The man was a regicide. He was probably responsible for Megan's dad and sister being killed. Of course he deserved that.

That being said, I don't think Sirius should've killed him before interrogating him so we could finally get some answers, and I don't think it's morally right to force the unwilling to watch an execution.

I'm not saying he didn't deserve to die. He was a monster, and a coward. I was referring more to the fact that it was in public, and the manner in which it was carried out. I was there, I saw it all. It was horrible. Why not just use the killing curse? Why all the blood? What is Sirius trying to prove - that he can kill people just as easily as Lucius could? That we should fear him? Like you said, there should have been some sort of questioning, or a trial.

Two wrongs do not make a right. And this feels very wrong to me, I'm sorry.

Traditionally executions by the state are supposed to be public, so the world can see justice done. But yeah, I agree he did it wrong, and I wasn't even there to see it happen.

Are you okay, Suse?

It's 2000, not the Middle Ages. Some traditions are best left in the past. Starting a reign from bloodshed can't be a good thing. It wasn't for Lucius.

I'm fine. I guess I'm still in shock, like most people. You? Work must have been ridiculously crazy for you this morning.

Doesn't matter what anybody does or doesn't deserve. Sirius and his cronies are just going to do what they're going to do. The Malfoys and their cronies are going to do what they're going to do. End of story.
