I wonder what the parents of the first-year Muggleborn students are thinking? Most of them are new to our world, it must have been strange enough for them. Now they're getting letters about Noble Houses, and of occupations and declarations of war. Somebody within the school faculty ought to write to them, although what can you say?

We know about as much as they do, really.

House Bones

What are your views on this take-over? This is going to get worse before it gets better, isn't it?

I'd hope the Muggleborns have enough sense to keep their parents out of this. It's not like they can do anything but worry, and we don't want them pulled from the school. They'd be at greater risk, don't you think?

Boneses
Seems that way. There must be something we can do for added protection. It's no secret our family is sworn to House Potter.

I don't know. Eleven-year-olds aren't often known for the sense, and a kind word from home would be a great comfort. I think I'd be writing to Dad.

It just seems wrong not letting Muggleborn parents know what's going on. I know ignorance is bliss, but if and when they eventually do find out, I think they'd be much more inclined to take their children out of Hogwarts than if they were just told upfront. There are already too many secrets.

[Boneses]
Yes, and I think House Potter has picked a side for us. I don't want our family getting caught up in a feud that we have no say in.

Perhaps care packages might be in order.

And what would we put in these packages, my fair Lady?

Stuff they used to be able to get from Hogsmeade for starters. With everything going on now, the older students won't be allowed on their trips to the village anymore. And they won't be able to come back with the supplies to trade with the younger students.

You may be on to something.

Megan

I am going to Hogsmeade on Wednesday. Work stuff. I may have volunteered, nobody else wanted to go for some reason. I can pick stuff up then, any personal requests?

Thanks, but I'm still in and out of Hogsmeade every weekday actually. WWN hasn't relocated to the London backup station yet because apparently, the people in charge like walking the line between free speech and open treason just as much as the rest of us.

Did you just turn down an offer of free Honeydukes sweets?

Only because I don't want you to sprain anything while carrying my load of essentials!
