Born to Harold and Edith Barton, Clint was the youngest of two boys. Their father was drunk and continuously beat on the young boys, Barney was the one that taught Clint how to fight and perfect his aim. His drinking eventually ended both his and his wife's life and the two boys were sent to many foster homes. While running away from one of them, the boys found and joined a circus. The two worked as roustabouts for a while, eventually, Clint was trained by a swordsman and by Trickshot. When he came upon the ringmaster embezzling he was beaten and left for dead.
In 2004, Barton was hand-picked by Nick Fury for his skills, becoming one of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s most skilled agents. He was known for his use of the bow and arrow as his primary weapon and extremely keen eyesight and accuracy that earned him the codename Hawkeye, Barton had become one of the best S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, responsible for the recruitment of Black Widow, whom he developed a strong friendship with. Clint always said that the best shot was the one he never took when he was sent to assassinate Natasha or Black Widow.
After many missions as an Avenger, he found himself amongst family. After Loki took over his mind and used him for his own gain, Natasha was the one to bring him back to himself. After the fall of Sheild, Clint decided to stick with the Avengers and did not join the new Sheild that was being formed.
After the death of his best friend, Clint was never the same.

As, Hawkeye or Ronin, Clint possesses no superhuman abilities. Although, because of his abilities, Nick Fury's intel classified him as power level 4. He is, however, a master of Archery, and Supersight, he's in peak physical condition, an expert acrobat, a master of martial arts, an expert tactician, a cunning fighter, a master of weaponry, a weapon designer, and is multilingual.
