Cokeworth just promptly Jossed our Halifax-based Hello, Half-Blood Prince as well as half of post-HBP/post-DH stories out there, no doubt; not to mention it probably resolved so many well-structured online guesses on the location of Spinner's End in one sitting, and still, I'm more excited and fascinated about this new tidbit of recycled location than anything.

I guess a part of it is: HP fandom has so many levels of canon to play (or not play) with. There're books and movies (which often contradict each other) and then there's JKR interview and supplemental merch./books canon ready for exploring. I like being able to pluck out certain facts for inspiration and be able to leave the rest behind if needed, which, just like with the epilogue, other people have done successfully already. Selective application along with some imagination really helps when dealing with such diverse and tangled, often self-contradicting universe.
