Just finished reading. Wow. Such a powerful beginning, and the rest of the story held up to the same high standard. I love how this fic builds onto canon without repeating canon scenes.
You've managed to convey the amazing complexity of Snape and Harry's relationship so well: nothing is ever simple for them. Snape is protecting the boy even now, and Harry's pushing stubbornly on. Particularly liked the electric touch, the choice of quote in the beginning, and the visuals of Snape: in the forest thanks to the doe. It resonates nicely with the Forest of Dean canon.
The dialogue has a lovely flow to it, they never say too much, just barely what's needed. Love the 'Look at me' making an appearance in the last scene.
