Thank you again for your patience and your marvellous review, which I continue to reread and find great pleasure in. It is so wonderful to hear that the story maintained some of the breathlessness of the opening scene, which was the only part of a different, discarded fic I managed to salvage. I had worried that the tempo and tense of that scene would jar with the parts written later.

I'm so glad you liked that scene about knowing! I wasn't sure if it would come across as over the top, so your words are quite the balm.
