Good to hear, my dear. Now I'm thinking I really should rec more. *hangs head* It's either write a rec post or address my correspondence or write my bloody papers, and I often go for the former, thinking it will reach the greatest number of people. I wish I could manage my time as well as you.

[info]schemingreader's story hits close to home in a lot of ways, but perhaps it is therapeutic for precisely that reason? I don't know. Fic always work in different ways for different people, and I think one reason her style works so well for me has to do with my own problems. Her work is deeply invested in the psychological and in healing without ever delving into the realm of unmitigated fluff; the conclusions always feel real and hard-earned and never too rushed -- I feel healed myself, in a way -- even when Snape and Harry suddenly start kissing out of the blue or Snape smiles or sings. As you can imagine, I usually scrunch up my face and stop reading when that happens, but she makes those scenarios work for me with a language that is a pure gesture of love, in a way. Anyway, this is a long way of saying that you might enjoy Wild Thyme Honey for a similar plotline but a very different (Greek) setting.
