Actually, it's not the story but the setting; Tokyo is an intensely meaningful place for me, and I'm often oddly possessive (?) about it. It's hard to see it invoked by others in fic (this is completely irrational, btw), because it taps into ongoing issues of belonging (and exile) that are still (always?) quite raw. Sounds bizarre, yes? I need to get over myself, of course.
