Look.

I'm out. I'm a liability.

After what happened with Wilkes it's clear they didn't want information about them to get out.

The only reason they'd leave me alive is if they wanted something else. I don't believe it's an Imperius; I know what that feels like and I've not felt it. But there has got to be something.

I can't fail this group again.

Just like that, you're going to give it up? That's really quite remarkable, the turn-around you've managed. You've been through the worst that we can ever face except for death itself, and you're just going to dismiss it and everything we are fighting for like it doesn't matter? Even if we were going with your whole 'weakest link' idea, I've been of the belief that that's just not how we operate. We're not about to kick anybody out for the crap that's happened, as if I'm in a position to say anything about that. I respect that you are doing what you think you have to do. It's why you joined in the first place, I expect, and what's happened to you and others is rubbish. The only reason I think this works out at all is if we stick together.

I'm not going to stop fighting them. I'm not going to give up on the 'cause'. I'm certainly not going to stop before I find out what happened to me.

I'm going to stop doing it while being associated with this group. I'm not going to keep putting you and the others in danger because I am to blind to see that I was walking into a trap.

I know what the risks are.

Bleeding heart. That's a new one on me.

Let's don't forget that my mind was theirs because I was stupid enough to get caught. And let's don't forget they left me alive when killing me would've been easier and much more their style. Seems fair to guess there's a reason for that, and reasons on their side are dangerous to ours.

This isn't ~~just~~ me feeling guilty. This is me thinking ahead.

As painful as it is to admit, a number of Death Eaters are our equals in intelligence, and there is a reason Voldemort has risen to power and has done all he has done. There is an unquestionable lack of sanity from his part, but an undeniable amount of brainpower. And manpower, as it were. There was equal chance for all of us getting caught.

You could be right, that they plan to use you again, but there isn't one of us that doesn't have information of tremendous value to them. To put it bluntly, Caradoc, you are not special. In this case, it is a good thing. And if this is you thinking ahead, I say knock it off, and get your mind back in the present.
