Here are a list of our basic concepts, game play and options you have. It is also meant to give you a better feeling of what you can expect from this game when you become a part of it which might not be addressed in the other sections.
A) Basic concept / philosophy: This game is both plot and player driven. What we wanted this place to be is somewhere where you can play all the plots/storylines you ever wanted to play and a setting that can be actively shaped by your decisions and that of your character.
B) The setting: The setting is a (relatively big) island which includes a city, a forest, a mountain range, a jungle and since Tracy joined heaps of Pandora plants. Most people live in the city and the apartment houses but characters do not have to do that and can choose or even build their own houses. More information can be found here. As implied above the setting isn't fixed and the comments on this page indicate all the additions that have been made due to plots or players. Ever wanted your character to have his own house: here you can! If you want more background information, go to the premise.
C) All your options: By being active you can earn yourself points and these points can be spend on plots, buildings and doors. Plots are your regular plot things (body switch etc.) which can only effect yourself or can be open for the whole island (you can basically run a modly like plot). Buildings can be added to the island and electricity can be bought for existing buildings (usually they don't have any). You can also open doors. These can lead to your character's home world or just one of your choosing and you can even play temporary characters on the other side. One of the mods is doing that with the Harry Potter world occasionally. If you want to read more about points, plots and doors, check out the FAQ-page and point spending page.
D) Mod plots: We try to run plots regularly and sometimes open mod-doors. Our plots can be dark or fluffy and we try to alternate the type of plots we are playing. We also try not to force people into plots which means that if it is a direct effect to your character (e.g. making people younger), you can always opt out. We run both the occasional RP land classics (e.g. power switches) and unique ones which play with the setting. The type of endings to the plot can also vary: we have both fixed endings and once that are determined by your characters' actions.
E) NPCs: We have to NPCs who are readers (they can read characters into the game), one is evil, one is nice and they are both played by the mods (two different mods to keep it interesting). You can contact them and they might react to what you are doing. This way bigger plots might arise as a consequence of your character's action.
F) All the information: We know the FAQ and the other pages are long. This stems from three years of game history and having an interactive setting and might seem very intimidating. We do not expect you to know everything, especially if you are new. Mistakes will be made and we will most likely overlook it and maybe give you a poke if they might confuse other players and if you have questions, ask! The pages are used for inspiration and guidelines so you can look things up when you need it or want to decide on what to do.
G) OOC plotting: We have an AIM blast group which we can only recommend joining. It is a great place for plotting or just generally geeking. You can find the link to it in the contact page once you joined the game.
