I'm extremely bad at introductions, ask anyone (Drew specifically). I never know what to say or what to leave out; whats common knowledge and what isn't. Lets start out with Hi, I'm Cameron. Born and raised in beautiful California. I've been on the film scene for over a decade. I'm the actress that you either love or hate, with me there's no in between, so I've been told. I'm too funny to do anything dramatic....but then people were talking about me getting an Oscar for In Her Shoes (although it didn't happen).
The day I auditioned for The Mask, I went into it knowing I wasn't going to get the role, color me surprised when I did. That role is my most memorable (next to Mary of course). If you ask anyone, they usually say "she was so hot in the Mask" and follow it up with a "..what the fuck happened?" hahaha. I don't take stuff like that too seriously. I'm comfortable in my own skin and the most important people in my life love me for me, thats all that matters.
I thank the heavens everytime I get a text, voicemessage or email from Drew or Lucy. Doing the Charlie's Angels series with them was the best thing to happen to me. I love those girls more than anything and they couldnt have come into my life at a better time. Its been a while since I've seen Lucy; but Drew and I exchange texts almost all the time. She's been my rock. She was such an amazing friend to me, especially last year when my father passed away. It was so unexpected, it had rocked our family to the core. So Drew, my Drewbie, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I'll always be there for you as you were and still are for me ♥.
Then there's the matter of me and my exes..hahaha. I've dated a well known man here and there. I pride myself on not jumping from one relationship to the next quickly. Every boyfriend I've had I've been with for years. From Jared, to Justin to Paul. I loved them all very much, in different ways. I still consider them great friends and still occassionally spend time with them; just because the relationship ends, doesn't mean the friendship has to, right? As of right now,my eyes are open, I'm looking before I leap.
I guess i can start summing it up with what I'm doing lately. The last installment of Shrek came out this Spring. It still saddens me to say that, 'the last installment'. Shrek was a huge part of my life. It was 10 years and 4 amazing films. I got to work with some of the most amazingly talented people I've ever had the pleasure and honor of meeting. I'm hoping somewhere down the line, the company changes their minds and ask to make ONE MORE, hahaha. Along with Shrek, Knight and Day was released in June to mixed reviews and "below expected" numbers (but wound up being the highest grossing movie of the year for the company we made it through). You can't please everyone, that I know. But I also know we're in the middle of a financial crisis and not everyone wants to spend $10-$20 on a ticket to see a movie unless its a movie they know they're absolutely going to love. Right now, I'm in London; having just started working on Gambit with Colin Firth and Alan Rickman.
And next month my movie "Bad Teacher" comes out. I'm ridiculously excited about the release of that movie because I got to work with a very funny cast. Also..with that Justin Timberlake guy; he's surprisingly good, that Timberlake fellow.
Oh! And as of March 30th, I was voted Cinemacon's Female Star of the Year! Totally caught me off guard since I didn't release but 2 films this year, but I'm ever appreciative of the honor!
I'm always up for making new friends, so don't hesitate to say hello. I like hanging out. I'm outdoorsy and I love basketball, and have recently picked up on baseball. I'm also beginning to watch a little more boxing and wrestling too. See, my tastes in hobbies is somewhat varied. If you like surfing, you and I would get along swimmingly...get it, swimmingly...i made a funn..nevermind hahaha.
Um. I guess thats it, not so bad right?
