At fourteen years old, Nancy began having strange dreams, that quickly escalated into nightmares. All involved a strange, terrifying man with hideous burns, a striped sweater, and a glove with razors on the fingers. When her friend Tina was killed, Nancy, like most others, originally suspected the girl's temperamental boyfriend, Rod. When Rod tried to describe what he saw the night Tina died, however... Nancy realized Rod was describing the man from her nightmares. Shortly after, Nancy watched that man murder Rod in a nightmare.

Nancy eventually got her mother to admit that she knew who the man in Nancy's dreams was: Freddy Krueger, a child murderer that the parents of Elm Street had burnt to death in retribution after he had beaten the legal system on a technicality. He was back somehow, and getting revenge by killing the children of those same people in their dreams.

Nancy had to watch as Krueger killed both her mother and her boyfriend, before defeating him by refusing to fear him.

She thought it was over... but over the years, found her dreams to be growing more and more disturbing again. To combat this, she began studying dreams, both how to control them and how to suppress them. She began taking an experimental drug called Hypnocil, that was supposed to cause the patient to not dream. Now 24 years old, Nancy has begun working at Westin Hills Psychiatric unit, trying to help troubled youth deal with their own nightmares. Unfortunately... those kids have all been dreaming of a familiar man with a bladed glove...
