In The Elder Scrolls, there's a beast race called the Khajiit.
They're native to a province of Tamriel called Elsweyr, which is bordered by Valenwood and Cyrodiil. They are a feline species with a sweet tooth, which is a funny contrast to the felines of our world, who prefer salty things.
A large part of their diet is made with Moon Sugar, which is rather dangerous for non-Khajiiti races to consume. The Khajiit have grown up on Moon Sugar and are naturally resistant to its effects.
They can also see in the dark and are naturally stealthy.
The thing that's always fascinated me about this race however, are the subraces. They're called furstocks. There's sixteen of them, and they're determined by the phases of the two moons of Nirn - Masser and Secunda. Though in Khajiiti culture, they're instead called Jone and Jode.
Masser's phase will be listed first.
Secunda's phase will be listed second.
Sub-races ending in the suffix -raht are typically built a little bigger and stronger than those without the suffix.
All Khajiit are sentient, intelligent, and can talk.
If you treat an Alfiq as they look, they're liable to scratch your eyes out, and it's not because they're mean. It's because you deserved it, because you're being rude.
Some Khajiit have digitigrade legs, while others have have plantigrade legs, like humans do. The below picture opens to a new tab with a larger image.
WAXING / WAXING - Cathay-raht

A lot like the Cathay, but a little bigger-built and stronger. Plantigrade legs. Found commonly in the Khajiit caravans of Skyrim.

Typically resemble bipedal jaguars, and are more agile than a werewolf. Plantigrade legs.

Not much is known of the Tojay or their larger counterparts, but you won't likely find them anywhere outside of Elsweyr's jungles or the southern marshes.

The Tojay have bipedal digitigrade legs, as do the -raht.

Quadrupedal stance. The largest furstock of the Khajiiti subraces. Known mostly as "battlecats". However, they are still fully intelligent, capable of speech and spellcasting. They do not like to be referred to or treated as beasts, and do not like their riders to be seen as their "owners" or "handlers".

Quadrupedal stance. The second-largest furstock, second only to their Senche-raht cousins. The Senche sometimes allow themselves to be used as war-steeds. It's all a matter of personal preference. The Senche are faster than the Senche-raht because of how their bodies are built.

Quadrupedal stance. The third-largest furstock, and larger than the Pahmar. They look like large tigers. What they lack in size they make up for in strength, and are rumored to be the strongest of the furstocks.

Quadrupedal stance. Comparable to a tiger and smaller than the Pahmar-raht.

Quadrupedal stance. Similar in size and appearance to a serval or caracal. Perhaps even a Savannah cat.

Quadrupedal stance. The smallest of the furstocks. Looks most similar to a housecat in both size and appearance, but don't let their appearance fool you, and it's really recommended you not treat them like an ordinary cat, because they are not. Alfiq like to wear clothes, but because of their physical limitations, they must have somebody else dress them or they use magic to dress themselves.

Quadrupedal. Both the Dagi and Dagi-raht have a gorilla-like stance because they prefer to live in trees rather than on the ground. They are both rumored to be excellent spell-casters, and their faces are like that of a lynx.

Bipedal and plantigrade. While the Ohmes look most "human" of the Khajiit, their noses and forehead still maintain a rather flat profile from the side from the tip of their noses and up to their sellion. Ohmes-raht have considerably more hair than the Ohmes Khajiit, and they have a tail.

Bipedal and plantigrade. The most human-looking of the Khajiit, save for their uniquely flat noses. Their faces are often painted to look more like their furrier cousins to avoid being mistaken for Bosmer.

Bipedal and digitigrade. The Suthay-raht and Suthay are the most commonly-seen subrace of Khajiit in Morrowind.

The Suthay are built leaner than their Suthay-raht cousins. They have sharp claws on their hands and feet and while they retain a remarkably feline appearance, they are built in similar stature or height to the races of man. The Suthay are not as good of warriors as the Cathay.
