Five life-defining moments which have made your character who they are today. Brother: Charlie was born the second son of Arthur and Molly, and was followed by four more brothers and a sister. In short, life was never dull or quiet in The Burrow and Charlie counts himself incredibly lucky to have such a large, loving group of people to call his family. Yes, they were poor and struggled to make ends meet, but this has only made Charlie more considerate, grateful and resourceful. He was also raised to be a caring, generous and tolerant boy, and his loyalty to the people he cares about runs very deep. Having a strong support team behind him has enabled Charlie to become a happy, confident man - not afraid to fight for those who need it, and bold enough to follow his dreams.

The war: Despite the love of his family, things weren't always idyllic. Charlie still remembers a time sitting with his fretful mother when Arthur was "out". He didn't understand until Bill told him that his father was fighting for a better world. Molly was too. Which meant that the children were often left with elderly relatives whilst their parents fought the good fight for the Order. The elder boys hid the truth from their younger siblings, so as not to incite fear. However, Charlie was always terrified of losing his family. A fear which is starting to resurface as history seems to be repeating itself.

Hogwarts: By the time Charlie went to Hogwarts, the war was effectively over. This served as a fresh and hopeful new start, and he was not disappointed. He was sorted into Gryffindor (Molly sent a very large hamper of sweets and a big bunch of balloons the morning after.) and Charlie became a popular and well-liked pupil. Not just within his own house, he also had plenty of friends from other houses, including Nymphadora Tonks, with whom he and his brother terrorised the school with pranks and mischief. He also joined the Quidditch team in his later years, and briefly considered a career in the profession. Until Professor Grubbly-Plank suggested a career Dragonology upon seeing Charlie's passion for the creatures and his inquisitive mind.

Dragons: Charlie had always been obsessed with Dragons. Although it was hard leaving his family and friends behind, he finally took the plunge and took a job in Romania, working at the Dragon Reserve there. His mum protested that there was a reserve in Wales, but Charlie had a specialised interest in the Eastern European Dragon breeds, and they thrived in Romania. He struck a deal with Mum, though. He would return home at least once every two months. He also meets up with Bill much more regularly (don't tell Mum) either in Egypt, Romania or somewhere in between. Usually somewhere with a pool, cold beer and good vibes.

Relationship: About a year ago, Charlie met Irena. Things were great at first, she's pretty, intelligent and has a good heart. Thing is, they are completely incompatible. Irena wants Charlie to go for promotions, to work a higher paying job. She wants him to move out of his shared flat and get his own place. She wants him to wear smart clothes and keep his hair tidy. She wants him to spend more time with her and her friends and less time with his friends. She wants to meet his Mum. She wants to get married. And UGH. No. Charlie broke things off a few weeks ago, but she has made his life very difficult ever since. She sends him letters (often with nude pictures), speaks to his friends, 'conveniently' bumps into him in public. The true difficulty is that he still loves her, but he knows they're better off apart and it's messing with his head. As a result, he's trying to spend more time at home.



First Person.
There's a word in Romanian, can't spell it and it doesn't really translate well anyway, but it basically means "someone who takes forever to do a simple task because they're so chilled out about the task but then taking too long to do it makes the task bigger and makes it less simple so they become stressed out about it and so end up not doing it at all"
Might have to teach it to Mum. Sums us all up perfectly - especially Dad.
