Stubborn, reckless, anxious, awful at asking others for help,While Mandy might try and blame her feistiness on needing a thick skin for her current job, the truth is that she has always been an extroverted individual, full of spirit and determination. Even as a young child, her parents would often find it hard to dissuade her from an idea when she got something into her head. In fact, they often found that the more that they tried to talk her out of doing something, the more she would persist in doing it, often to the point of recklessness.
It is partly because of her determination and feistiness that when she fell pregnant at 16, she decided to keep it, despite everyone telling her it would ruin her life. Not wanting anyone to define her life for her, she decided to keep Ben. Little did she know at that young age though, how much that little bundle would teach her. Realising that she could not be reckless with someone relying on her, it forced her to grow up. It helped her to work on her patience, to build on her empathy. As a result of this, she now has a tendency to take in people who need help, and finds herself unable to turn her back on people in need.
Not wanting to cause a fuss, Mandy tried her best to be the good daughter that her mother desperately wanted. She worked hard at school, she volunteered and she even managed to tutor at weekends for extra cash. For a while in the Jennings household, everything was smooth and without problems. That was until one fateful day where Mandy took a tutoring job that would quickly change the course of her life forever.

That was until one fateful day where Mandy took a tutoring job that would quickly change the course of her life forever, when she eventually began to tutor the father of her child Cade.
Where Mandy was quite and studious, Cade was far louder and extroverted, spending his lunch breaks in with the cool crowd at school. Unable to stand his antics at school, it never even crossed her mind for a moment that they might share things in common, that the pair of them might have been far more similar then either of them could have anticipated.
Despite initial attempts to try and keep things as professional as possible, hormones eventually crept in and the pair of them soon found themselves in a relationship with one another. Coming from vastly different families, with very different expectations of them, the pair kept it quiet, meeting in secret and lying to parents so they could escape off into the woods with one another.
Unfortunately for the pair of them, as sensible as Mandy might usually have been, with him, she acted considerably more her own age, and the pair of them got lazy with contraception in the face of hormones. So, a mere 4 months after embarking on their physical relationship, Mandy found herself with a positive pregnancy test and the prospect of being a mother not long after graduation from school.
Naturally, her mother attempted to try and coerce her into getting rid of the baby via one means or another, filling her head with stories of how it would be her ruin. As much as she wanted to try and please her mother though, Mandy could just not bring herself to get rid of her child. So, a short 6 weeks after graduation, Mandy brought her son, Ben into the world.
Try as she might to keep the peace between her and her mother, her mother seemed to have no plans in trying to make it easy for her. Even with Mandy protesting that she wanted to keep Ben, her mother still insisted on trying to push her to have him adopted so that she could go to college in the fall as was planned.
Realising that she was unable to live there any longer after a particularly nasty fight with her mother, Mandy found herself renting a tiny studio apartment with a young baby to support. Of course, Ben’s father tried to be there for her too, however both sets of parents had successfully driven a wedge between the two of them, leaving their relationship in tatters.
Since that first evening that she found herself in her new home, Mandy has vowed to be the very best mother that she can for Ben. Working multiple jobs around town (as well as the occasional cash in hand job), she ensures she is always there to drop him off for school and pick him up, whenever humanly possible.
