Pleased when she didn't pull away, Bruce allowed himself the brief moment to enjoy the feel of her skin, something he hadn't realized he'd missed until contact was reestablished.
Her fingers moving against his sent a small current of warmth through him, and Bruce couldn't help wondering what she was thinking. What she had decided in her six months away, and what it meant that she was back here, in his home, talking to him.
Talking to him here, instead of on a rooftop somewhere.
"Me? I've been..." how had Bruce Wayne been? He had to think a minute to make sure there were no faked accidents in his recent history he was overlooking in the surprise of her arrival. "You know me, same as ever," he finished, flashing her a dazzling smile. "We've been working on some new projects at Wayne Enterprises, got a new car, working on plans for a new shelter and school for homeless kids through the Martha Wayne Foundation," he shrugged again as if he found that all boring. The loss of her hand was stark, but he just grinned, sliding his hand into his pocket.
